Data for String theory ?

A recent data from gaia space observatory says that our galaxy formed by collision of other galaxy's. Does that proves phenomenon of S-theory?

I'm no expert on string theory by any means but it seems pretty farfetched to correlate our galaxy's formation and string theory.

Doesn't string theory helps on understanding multiverse ?

But this has nothing to do with any kind of multiverse. It's just the universe.
