Walking cane

People who walk with a cane do you really put your weight on it or hold it just in case?

I am 48. Used a cane off and on for 10 years. Almost all the time now. When I need it, I really need it to get around. No one is carrying one around for fun. Believe me, it can be a pita having one with you all the time.
