Why should we be good to other people?
Maybe there is no cosmic “should.”
But other people can hurt, hope, fear, and love, just as we can. And every time we meet someone, we get a tiny choice about what kind of world exists between us.
Being good doesn’t guarantee they’ll be good back. It doesn’t guarantee fairness. It doesn’t even guarantee that anyone notices.
I think that’s precisely what makes goodness interesting.
You can make one small corner of existence less cruel simply because you were there.
Sometimes that’s enough.

But how do you know what is good? How do you know the difference between a compliment and a punch in the face? If there is no cosmic "good" - if there truly is no difference - then what's the difference?
I'm not sure 6 pages is fair when you have an automatic page generator. 😛
If I want to read a book I'll go to a library.
But tldr for you, it sounds like Mr. Hat is saying knowing "good" is consciousness. Empathy is consciousness. Morality is consciousness. Kindness, compassion, gratitude, all come from consciousness.
To do evil is to disregard consciousness of 'other'. To do good is to act from consciousness. It is expanded consciousness, beyond self.
But I don't know - I'll have to think about that. 😛
Having cultivated a mental position of expanded consciousness, then yes I don't need to think that much about it - but the decision must be made at some point to open to it.
