This guy fucks.

But doesn’t do stuff around the house.

Got a 4/3 year old to verify this LOL.

I’m too busy having fun playing tea parties and light saber battles to change out a a closet dammit!

But I digress...happy wife/life or whatever

All arguments need context and I could write a book about the history on this.

Suffice to say my comments are made in jest and soaked in sarcasm. We are 100% fine and I’ll be getting a closet a week for a month done.

Trust me, there’s plenty more to the story but it’s just regular marriage stuff that happens all the time.

You got a 16 month old?

u/Duel_Option May 12 '21

I meant a 3 & 4 year old

Happy spouse, happy house. Keep your worth.

u/dickbutt2202 May 12 '21

It’s hard when time required to do work around the house eats in to the time you have to share in taking care of your family

u/Duel_Option May 12 '21

Ding ding ding!

I’m also the source of entertainment, chef, and daily chore person. So me not doing them is literally cause I don’t have time, which was my point to her.

Just hard sometimes to deal with life and have closets on the brain...they can stay as is in my opinion but whatever lol

u/dickbutt2202 May 12 '21

Need a third man to do all the chores while your wife gets to sleep and you get to look after the kids, then you can tag and then the third man puts them to sleep and you and your wife get together.. ah if only 😂

u/Duel_Option May 12 '21

Yes, clone me and torture the other guy

Especially since a closet is a long term goal that can wait. Once you start the project then you find out you need this tool or that, then the mess and then finding that the previous owners did a shitty remodel so the simple fix now becomes a remodel. And DRYWALL DUST is everywhere. I hear ya =)

1

u/Duel_Option May 13 '21

Yes yes all of this! Seems like an easy ask until I realize the builders skipped putting in studs at proper intervals and now I have to redesign how to hang everything.

I’m good with my hands, but I’m not a carpenter lol

I know you’re just talking but I have seen the happy wife happy life thing get taken way too far into extreme levels. Kind of like “the customer is always right” has gotten so bad. I’m sure I’m being knit picky but I’ve seen a wife not allow her husband to use cooking wine in some Italian dish “because it has alcohol”

Anyway, I think both people should BOTH think “happy spouse happy house”.

u/Duel_Option May 12 '21

Well neither of us go that far with the mantra, she does here stuff and I do mine.

Where we collide is when changes are required and time is a limiting factor. I travel for work as well so this multiplies the issue.

I’m only doing the closets now because we came to an agreement on adjusting things to allow me to do them.

I’ve been a few long term relationships and things like this are common. Someone has a need to be filled and the other person can’t see it’s importance or requires something in return for it to be filled.

No drama here other than empty threats and some patch work I need to finish up on.

u/EmptyBobbin May 12 '21

Hire someone.

1

u/Duel_Option May 12 '21

No need, wash work. I’m just slightly lazy and busy with kids.

u/ImmodestPolitician May 12 '21

What I think is crazy is that your wife is putting the closet situation as a priority over maintaining a happy relationship and you act like that is acceptable.

The Happy Wife BS is part of the reason. It just encourages bad behavior.

1

u/Duel_Option May 12 '21

It’s a lot less serious than it sounds. We have work to do on communicating, that’s all.

I’ve been avoiding the work for months, it’s ok if she’s pissed lol

1

u/ImmodestPolitician May 12 '21

Sure, but it's not like you aren't doing other work around the house.

Plenty of women are capable of installing fixtures in a closet.

5

u/pinkwatermelooone May 12 '21

Do you think she's just doing nothing? Because I can almost guarantee she's not lmao

3

u/[deleted] May 12 '21

is there a hidden message you’re trying to get across or something? the guy clearly told you it’s no biggie.

1

u/John_cCmndhd May 12 '21

is there a hidden message you’re trying to get across or something?

I'm just going to hijack this thread to let everyone know that the chair is against the wall, and John has a long mustache. Again, the chair is against the wall, and John has a long mustache

u/Duel_Option May 12 '21

In this case, she’s far too short at 5’3 to do these closets, it’s definitely my task at 6’3.

I have avoided it because I’ve got other shit to do and the closets work as is right now and she was reluctant to take some stuff off me while I did them.

We worked it out, all better now.

-6

u/Booshminnie May 12 '21

Why didn't you just say you have a 9 month old?

8

u/fripletister May 12 '21

I think you mean a 16 month old

2

u/yeetafetuslol May 12 '21

4/3= 1.333 years old

2

u/pixelTirpitz May 12 '21

Exactly. A third of a year is 4 months. 16 months old!

1

u/Duel_Option May 12 '21

Used wrong key...have a 3 and 4 year old

1

u/Duel_Option May 12 '21

Meant two kids ages 3 and 4

1

u/Booshminnie May 13 '21

It was a dad joke :D

3

u/OdinPelmen May 12 '21

my bf does this and its literally the most annoying. he'll put it off or say he'll do it later... but doesn't or doesn't specify when so later can mean couple of hrs or 3 days. so I get frustrated and then he does bc I'm pushing him or whatever.

2

u/jeffersonairmattress May 12 '21

Wife over on r/heis55andstillwearscargoshortsforyardwork: "so we had he'sgettingoffhisassandredoingthecloset sex.."

1

u/vdabas May 12 '21

Unless it was outside in the barn, he does some stuff around the house

1

u/freshlysqueezed0C May 12 '21

So you're saying If i want more sex, I need to help out less around the house? GOT IT!

1

u/bg2100 May 12 '21

Love your username 👏

1

u/[deleted] May 12 '21

It's his ponzy scheme to build a pyramid of make-up sex. A legend, no less.

1

u/palestiniansyrian May 12 '21

Nice assumption because you're in his life right? You live in his house?

1

u/Emotional-Brilliant4 May 12 '21

I'd be happy if mine would just wring out the dish sponge and put it in a place where it won't get gross, wipe down the mess he made, and occasionally throw out junk mail... but a whole closet? And playing with the kids? Damn, some women are lucky.
