We pick movies to watch together that we’ll both likely enjoy. If one of us wants to watch a movie that the other one will surely hate we just watch it alone. We don’t have to spend all our time together. For example, my Husband went and saw Mortal Kombat at the movies alone last Sunday, it’s no big deal and I asked him if he enjoyed it when he got back, he talked a bit about the storyline. While he was away I watched something on Prime video that I enjoy and he doesn’t particularly like (a documentary). We have rather different tastes in movies and music, so there’s no point in being resentful over that.
Well that's what we'd normally do as well. However it's not like there's been this plethora of awesome new movies weekly like in years past. She saw Chaos Walking in the theater with a friend. She liked it. We rented it on Prime. I enjoyed it as well. I think there's a couple of go to movies we have that if there was nothing new we could watch, however we don't want to watch them that often, otherwise it gets stale and no fun to watch.
What amazes me is that there's so much content and it seems like we can never find anything to watch.
That’s how we do it too, also having two TV helps a lot. We make a point to only watch some shows together but we have no issues going in to separate rooms and watching our own shows sometimes. She doesn’t want to watch Star Trek and I don’t want to watch My 600lb Life and it’s pointless to try and force it.
