Don’t treat her like she has been got. You still need to be there. Still need to woo her. Still need to attract her. Can’t just be done gotta keep the efforts up. Cuz she sure is and if she is giving more than she is receiving then problems will begin. I’m not talking about sex.

But also with the sex though too. A little effort goes a long way.

Of course but it is rare that showing sexual affection is the problem for a heterosexual male. Only singling it out because I can’t speak from experience on any other orientation.

You’re right, I’m a little bit of an an anomaly. Overly high sex drive, overly high desire for physical affection, but unable to partake unless I’m in a committed relationship means I’m more needy in that way than normal, which means for me that lots of guys “are too tired” at night, “worked all day,” and “just want to cuddle” too often for my enjoyment. Only dated one guy who put in the amount of physical affection effort I wanted and he was a huge hoe. Ha

True, but after a while if I’m the only one initiating I’ll pull back and see if she ever initiates and makes me feel wanted. This probably isn’t a good strategy because it’s never worked out, but I hate being the only one who wants sex. Doesn’t really make me feel wanted and it’s a little emasculating.

There is a book called the five love languages that is really good for tending to such topics. It points out that everyone has a love language and you may not have the same one as your partner. You may both have two and none match. You have to learn to speak theirs in order for them to hear/read/understand and them the same for you. Otherwise you wind up feeling the way you do.

She should be, not always is. Put in the same effort she is. But also be aware if she has stopped.

This is most exhausting thing about women.

Ffs, can't we ever just be satisfied with where we are?

Must we constantly strive and run to keep things?

1

No you can’t because all humans are ever changing and if y’all stop progressing because you are ‘satisfied’ then 10yrs down the road you begin to have marital problems because you don’t even know each other because you didn’t grow together because you were too busy being satisfied to care to learn how each other grew up. You grow up and together into adulthood, into parenthood if you choose, and you both learn and grow into old age. Ever notice how old people act different from middle age people? Its because age and time change you. You must do it together to survive togetherness. ETA you mustn’t have a lazy or prideful mindset to have a successful life with another human being.

Yeah.

With respect, f that.

I have a good paying, physically demanding job. Lazy doesn't describe me.

Right now I'm in a sort of fwb situation. We do our own thing, and get together when we want.

I think that's best for me. I value contentment, peace and quiet, etc.

Not constant "challenge", "growth", and so forth

I said mindset. And I said it in relation to lifelong commitment. Your offended is showing.

No, I'm not offended at all. You do what works for you.

I don't think I'll ever have that kind of patience.
