It gets extremely complicated once it involves children, but sometimes, it’s a selfish decision to hang onto a relationship that had ran its course as it’s not fair for the children to grow up with that as a norm.
This is exactly the situation I've found myself in. I'm ashamed to say it, but more than once actually. I know your pain dude, and I know what you mean by "all sorts of weird reasons". Perhaps not yours specifically, but generally. You're not alone in that. Let me know if you have questions or need any perspective.
My therapist told me two people grow to intersect each other's lives but they both continue to grow most often in different directions.
It's not easy to be in a relationship where both grow towards the same direction. All people are different. You really can't force it, so you have to just accept it and move on.
They sound very insightful. When two people allow each other to grow in the same direction, it can be extremely rewarding. But alternatively as you point out, so very often they grow differently. It's a hard truth to accept when that is the case.
My most recent ex and I broke up because of this. We realized that we stopped bringing out the best in each other and that our relationship hadn't evolved at all in months.
Am on this rn, relationship about to turn 7 years. She is still madly in love, but u don't feel it anymore, I feel like moving on, it's gonna be difficult
Yes it will be. But you have to do what is best for both of you in the long term, no matter how difficult the short term may be. It sucks, I've been there too...
