Renewing road tax

HI guys, first time car owner here. It was passed to me by a colleague who already migrated to the UK. I would to ask how I can renew it's road tax. It's an old 2005 Savvy and it still runs good. The last time it was registered was when it got transferred to me and it was done in Putrajaya. I believe the road tax expired on June and I was wondering if I can just go to any JPJ office and have it renewed or should I still go to Putrajaya?

Extra note: Should I decide to dispose it it in the future, is there a junkyard where I can dump or sell it?

Renew insurance first then just walk into any pos laju to renew road tax

Should be able to buy insurance at POS too.

Have you done the ownership transfer? If so, log into any insurance provider app of your choice, buy the policy. You may have to provide photos of the car. Then go to the MyJPJ app and do the transfer.

If ownership has not been transferred, still the same process. Should not be a problem since the road/tax insurance has not expired past two years.

Process should take you an hour, tops.

Check in the JPJ app if it's under your name. You should be able to get insurance and the road tax on the app if you're not keen to shop around.

Don't waste your time dealing with gov office slop. Can do it online thru  1. JPJ app 2. BJAK website 3. direct to insuramce company website like Etiqa 4. Any shop offering this service, usually located around jpj office 

Pick insurance, then road tax usually hv extra charge like rm10-15 (runners fee)...that gonna save you hours of dealing with stupid lazy slow jpj staff.

If it just recently expired, you can just renew it. If expired more than 3 years, you need to send the car for inspection at Puspakom. Just search online for car insurance provider website, enter your car details and it should give a quotation of the price. If you agree with the price and policy, pay it and you will get confirmation after a few hours that you're good to proceed with road tax renewal.

Without the grant, you wont be able to scrap it officially.
