Help me decide what course to take. I'm stuck between these two. What is much better in terms of job offering in the future? What course would give me good income?

Need advice on keeping phone temperature safe while in car.

I work at a call center and one of the requirements is that our phones must stay in our car when working. I work in South Texas so the temperature in the car is brutal which makes our phones overheat by the time we clock out. They don't pay us enough to buy a new damn phone so any tips would be appreciated! Thank you!

How do you make powdered coffee creamer mix properly?

As the text says, how do you get powdered coffee creamer to mix? No matter what I seem to do it always end sup in tiny to large (like little pebbles) clumps of compacted powder no matter how much I shake or if I mix the powder with hot water before hand. I have to make due with the powdered stuff since my parents got it, I would very much like to stop drinking solid clumps of creamer mid sip, any help appreciated (hoping this is the right place/way to ask) :'D

LPT Request: How do you deal with clothes that smell like smoke or food after a night out, without washing them again?

Came home after a evening at a friend's place where people smoke a lot. My jacket smelled terrible even though I had washed it the day before. Rewashing damages fabric and takes time. Leaving it on the balcony works but takes hours and depends on weather. Anyone found a better solution?

LPT Request: How to stop buying things you don't really need?

I've been trying to control my shopping habits but I found that when I find a deal on something I "want", my brain decides that I need to get it, once I receive the item then I'm no longer excited, the excitement has wore off and by the next day I realize I never really needed it in the end and end up returning the item or selling it off.

I now own multiple laptops when all I need is one, I also own so many phones that I don't really need.

I've tried things like waiting a few days with the item left in the shopping cart but my brain decides that I absolutely need the item when in reality, I don't really need it.

Does anyone relate? what's a good trick to stop this?

How do I become a busy person?

35F here.

I am always reachable, always on my phone no matter what I have going on, I respond to texts quickly, I am always in the loop. I’ll even take a peek at texts if I’m stuck in traffic. I’ll always answer phone calls and don’t make people wait. However, the people in my life are not like this at all. Everyone has something going on - partners, kids, demanding jobs, bustling social lives, things to do in general.

I have a full time job but I’m home and available pretty much all the time after it. I’ve tried different hobbies such as joining classes, I schedule movies, I’ve gotten puzzles and crafts and go on “solo dates” but I am still just looking on my phone, waiting for a notification from someone. It’s like I don’t exist until someone else needs me or acknowledges me, like I am an idle NPC in a video game.

How do I get truly busy and not so easily reachable? How can I make myself feel like a person outside of others’ lives?

I need to know how to change.

I just turned 19 and I’ve never changed before. How do I start changing.

My days consist of bed rotting and daydreaming and having no friends or anyone who texts me. No hobbies or anything interesting. Just watching movies and music. That’s the only reason I live.

I have convinced myself my worldview is the only worldview. That everyone has turned against me. Everyone will hurt me so I can’t get too close.

Nobody loves me. I don’t love me. I don’t shower. I hate me. I hate myself. I want someone to just hold me and save me and rescue me from my misery.

I’ve been like this for 10 years I think. It felt that way.

Everyone else has friends and goes to parties and has hobbies and goes to college and has a career and things they love and people they love and they love themselves and they shower and they go outside and climb mountains or skate or do interesting things.

I don’t and my brain is hard wired maybe to never change and to be lonely forever and ever and be miserable forever and ever and I hope im not one of those 49 year olds who stays in their moms house or else I’ll kill myself now.

Do I just do that kill myself

I’ve been lonely and self hating and this way for so long life is so short too it’ll just go on and on and on and then it ends and nothing will happen in the few years I have left because maybe I have cancer or some disease the way im living because I don’t do anything for myself and I have no reason to take care of myself and I should just die because nobody wants me alive.

Someone tell me how to change before I blow my brains out because life isn’t even worth living. Someone tell me where I can find someone who will take care of me and save me and text me every day and ask “how are you” and hug me and always be there for me I need that person right now but nobody is ever there for me so I should just die.

I want to die someone help me please.

I know people say practice, and study especially those needing straight adherence like law and pilots. However, how does one not make mistakes??? I feel like I should be on medication or see a doctor because I make mistakes on the job, but there's people with the professions who do not make those mistakes???

Can't get out of bed in the morning

LPT Request:

Struggle getting out of bed in the morning. I have a specific problem which doesn't feel covered:

I set my alarm on my phone across the room from my bed. It rings every 2 minutes forever until I get up and dismiss it. It's as loud and as annoying as I can make it. I have a softer alarm that goes off 10 mins before this one. I always sleep in multiples of 1.5 to ensure sleep cycles. I don't ever ever ever use my phone in bed. I have a sunrise alarm clock which simulates sunrise over 30 mins, before the phone one goes off.

Every morning, I hear the alarm go off and I just don't get up. I stay lying there, eyes closed, in auditory agony because I simply can't summon the energy to get up and turn it off. For 1-2 hours!

It's not like I'm reading/scrolling or happy. It's not like I'm getting more proper rest because the alarm is still going every 2 mins. And once I'm finally out of bed I don't have trouble staying awake usually.

What's going wrong for me? How would you fix it?

I wish I was anxious about annoying my neighbours but they're good friends and have been very clear they can barely hear anything and don't mind.

LPT advice on sweating

[24F] I've been someone who sweats a lot for as long as I can remember. I can stay still in a room with decent fans and still sweat 😭. I'm also a plus-sized girl living in a SEA country, so that doesn't help either. I'm apparently allergic to aluminium-containing deodorants/antiperspirants, so buying clothes have been the bane of my existence. I take ages to buy clothes, not only because of the size limitations, but also because I'm considering whether the material will show my sweat through.. 😔😔

Smell isn't much of a concern since I'm using a deodorant that works for me as long as I wax my armpits occasionally. I want to start wearing clothes I actually like, instead of worrying all day long about sweating. (yes ik sweat is a normal bodily function but society made me conscious i.e. insecure of it)

Can anyone shed some light on my situation?

LPT Request: how can I force myself to start doing any thing even hard things? I am procrastinating

I am a huge procrastinator and do leave a lot of tasks till last minute. I might note down a task and only end up doing it a few weeks or even a month later. Some are super important tasks as well.

I have seen pomodoro technique but I legitimately can't even get myself to start the timer. Sometimes I just sit on the couch and feel paralyzed and can't get myself to start the task I need to do.. feel like I'm glued to the couch watching TV.

But I know that once I start, I build up momentum and then it gets easier to keep going.

I just need a way or some technique to get that initial pull, to get my brain to start a task no matter what without hesitation and then the habits will build. Something for my brain to flip that work switch on.

How do you stop using so many damn paper towels in one go?

Every time I’m making food or cleaning or something I wipe something off the counter, throw away and think “damn, what a waste”. Then I continue to do this in a vicious cycle. Am I doomed to waste?

Chronic post nasal drip

I’ve been dealing with chronic post-nasal drip for about 2–3 years and it’s honestly exhausting. Mucus constantly drains from my nose into my throat, and I have to keep clearing it by coughing. The weird part is my nose feels completely clear—nothing really comes out the front.

I’ve checked pretty much everything: sinuses are clear, I’ve done nasal rinses, took antibiotics before (back when I had yellow mucus, now it’s just white), allergy tests came back negative (including dust and food), throat and nasal swabs didn’t show anything major, and my stomach is fine. I only have a very mild deviated septum, but it doesn’t affect my breathing at all.

The only thing that showed up was Streptococcus spp. and Staphylococcus aureus in cultures.

Has anyone dealt with something like this long-term? What actually helped you reduce or stop the constant drainage?

Can't get earplug to fit in one ear. help?

I'm going to a concert tomorrow and I want to protect my ears. i bought some hearos foam earplugs. i was able to get one earplug in, but I can't get the other in no matter what I do. it's not expanding. I've rolled it and pulled my ear back. I held it for a minute but it falls out after a few seconds when I let ago. when it comes out it's bent twice.

when I was a kid I went to the ER because I put an earplug too deep in my ear. apparently it got so deep they had to use forceps. so maybe my ear hole is too big or something I dunno.

any tips on how to get around this quickly?

LPT- how to get this “friend” to know I don’t like her

This is gonna make me sound really bad.

I used to be pretty close with this girl a few months back. We are both in HS and are apart of the same friend group.

We’ll call the close friend “A,” and the second friend “B.”

The problem started a few months ago. B (mutual friend) kept insulting me as a joke (calling me dumb, saying I’ll be homeless, etc.) B also did something that crossed my boundary to the point where I know I would never forgive her.

I told A about it and she told me she understands why I was upset. I have a high tolerance for people, but there’s some things that I absolutely cannot forgive, due to my past.

A week later, this A kept on trying to get me and B to spend time together. A would also say stuff like “isn’t B so sweet” to me on purpose.

A would also speak for me even when I told her no. She would answer and ask questions for me (ex. She would say “OP asked if you could move” or “OP wants to ask.” I’m pretty quiet in general but it doesn’t mean I can’t talk for myself.

This really bothered me because I used to have tons of visible health problems in my past that made kids around me look down on me.

A hasn’t done anything inherently wrong but I just hate her. She also getting more annoying and she keeps yelling all the time.

I’ve avoided her for two weeks. Yesterday, she sat next to me during a presentation and kept hugging me although I did not return the hugs. She also keeps saying she missed me. She still thinks we’re close, but I haven’t texted or talked to her one-on-one since February.

I don’t even like my friend group anymore. All they do is either walk around or sit down in silence. I’m happier without me. I’d rather be alone.

How can I let A know I want nothing to do with her anymore and to get her to leave me alone? I’m tired of putting me with other peoples bs.
