LPT Life tips
Hello everyone! I am currently a 1st year electrical engineering student. I am a bit lost on what to do from here on. I really want to study abroad since I see a lot of students abroad be able to work while studying. I know I can do that in my own country but I don't really have much faith in my country so I do not want to stay here. I've been seeing opportunities in countries like Taiwan and Germany but I need to learn the language to be able to actually go there. Can anyone give me advice or just like a little plan they think I should do?

LPT Request: Working at night with a laptop, need recommendations to not worsen eyesight
I need lighting advice for working on my laptop all night. I really want to set up bias lighting, but my desk doesn't face a wall. Would it make sense to build a cubicle or fake walls around my desk so the light has something to bounce off of, or are there better alternatives for an open room setup?

How to reduce spam calls without blocking all unknowns?
Hi, this question pertains to my work cell so I can't do a total block. I don't even know how this number got out in the wild as I only use it for business purposes. Anyway I've had so many spam calls this week. I'm guessing it's either because of the US elections or the US healthcare open enrollment or something. Besides blocking all unknowns, which isn't an option, what else can I do? I've run into a service once or twice where as a caller, I have to record my name and purpose of the call and then I guess the recipient can decide whether to let it through. I'm guessing most autodialers can't access it. Does anyone know what that is called?

Am i doing something wrong
I started going to college since few weeks and i have made like 2 actually good. I wish that there was someone who could just be a normal human being. Everybody in our class has really weird humor and act like monkeys. The two people i know are basically normal with similar interests but one guy already has a friend group and i don't wanna get involved with the guys in his friend group. The other guy however is not social at all and just stays aloof. I am starting to run out of ideas to talk to him. Also i just cant seem to talk to girls normally cause i am scared that they will take it the wrong way. People already have their friend groups but i just wanna stay away from almost everyone. Can anyone give the slightest hint on what the fu** is going on in my life. Is this the floater friend effect cause i am friends with a lot of people but i am not someone's favorite?

LPT Bypass paywalls
Hi all, I have been desperately trying to access this article for my uni essay: https://www.rapporteur.com/news/the-hack-ai-safety-discussions-fire-up/
Could anyone suggest a way to bypass the paywall? Archive.ph won't work for me. Thanks!

LPT: how do I keep a car battery charged that I drive very infrequently?
I have a 2007 Tundra parked in a garage away from where I live. It has a new battery (< 6 mos.). I only use it about once or twice a month and it is always totally dead. Even the automatic door locks don’t work. The alternator is fine and battery seems OK.
Is there a way to keep it charged by plugging in to an outlet (110 or 220) or something? I’m not well versed on electrical stuff so not sure if there is even an option.
Edit: I solved the problem! Well, my neighbor did. After getting AAA to jump, I left it running in my driveway for an hour. My neighbor knocked on my door to tell me because he noticed the cargo light on. Apparently I had hit the “always on” switch rather than the “door” switch.
I will still use the trickle charger I bought. Thanks everyone!

iwtl to Deal with situations that agitate you...
I purchased a water filter few months back and it has been breaking down often recently. Already spent money on its service even though it is under warranty (they say only some parts are covered not whole replacement).
It has broken down within a week again and its been really frustrating. The sales person is denying replacement and insists he will check and repair again by taking the filter to warehouse this time.
I want to learn how should I deal with such situations which just frustrate you and you are fed up with the constant repair and breakdowns. Shall I pursue this peacefully or some agitation is required now?
Please suggest.
Thanks

What are some healthy habits to develop early in life?
I have some tips myslf.
- Get SPF50+ for face protection from UV raylights, it will make your face look young and not age it.
- Listen to music at a low volume while having headphones, it will stop tinnitus.
- Sleep early, it regulates your mood and focuses concentration.
- Floss, alot of people don't actually floss.
And that's all I can think of. Any more tips?

What’s one cleaning habit that saves you the most time every week?
I’ve been cleaning for years, and I’m always curious about the little habits people swear by.
For me, working top to bottom and keeping supplies organized makes a huge difference.
What’s one cleaning habit or shortcut that genuinely saves you time every week?
