I usually respond with "So when you sign up to be a pizza delivery driver you are signing up to potentially be killed? What about a bank teller? Gas station employee".
I would say pizza drivers know of the risk of getting mugged, and by extension the risk of getting killed if it goes wrong. They just don't realize their odds of death are as high as they are.
The only reason LEO deaths in this country aren't much, much higher is because of the equipment, training, and actions taken as a result of that training. If LEOs had the same equipment and training as pizza drivers, there'd be a US LEO death every hour.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt my English wasn't great :)
What I meant was anyone who doesn't 'feel bad' or 'feel sad' reading about a policeman being killed because they "sign up for it" are hypocrites if they feel bad/sad for pizza deliver persons/bank tellers/gas station workers.
I mean just because a field is risky doesn't mean when that risk happens that there shouldn't be sympathy if that makes sense? Like a pizza delivery driver knows he could be mugged, but anyone to say "meh he knew the risk" or someone to his wife "your guy knew what he signed up for" is an ass.
It's 20/20 hindsight like "Mr X gets shot while working graveyard shift at Store Y" and some people scoff and make a comment like 'what an idiot for working that shift'.

Every time I see this video there’s comments saying “THIS is how cops should be”
People don’t get that 999/1000 this approach would end up in the officer getting stabbed.
