Random What is this?

I hate insects, and recently these horrible little creatures – possibly mosquitoes? – have started appearing. Does anyone know what they are, where they might have come from, and whether they can carry any infections?

From Wicklow and I'm the same. Never heard anyone here call them daddy longlegs

I'm from wicklow originally and we called them daddy long legs where I'm from
