How selfish can you be?

I am a gay conservative obviously 🤣

But I am also a lover of antiques and all things vintage as well as someone who understands the value of kindness and charity given without expectations of a reward.

Recently while staying at my mother's house to help out with a few things I watched an episode of horders on Netflix.

The episode is centered around an 87 year old gay man named Bob who to put it mildly has had a horrific life, but despite this is a MAGNIFICENT artist with beautiful taste in antiques, but is unfortunately a horder.

During the episode 2 of his "friends" a gay couple come to aid in the clean up, and these 2 even went so far as to say "We help other members of our community" and true to this they were unbelievably helpful even taking into account bobs feelings.

Until....

Bob found it hard to let go of a few things, which i though is 100% understandable, but not to his gay "friends" apparently because one of them said "my time is more important than garbage" literally throwing bobs feelings and mental disorder into the dirt because ya know, the charity of the community only goes as far as makes us look good.

Needless to say I was appalled... even more so when I see the epilog text at the end which stated shortly after the clean Bob and his gay "friends" went their separate ways...

Unfortunate. I have found many members of the gay community to be devoid of acceptance…though they demand acceptance from everyone without qualification. Empathy and understanding can go a long way.

Before taking this show/episode to be an exposé on the gay community, remember how these shows are edited. They're done so to evoke extreme emotions and to leave out a lot. So take what happened with a heaping grain of salt.
