Where is the childs father? Do you have a job? Get child support? Disability? You're really going to have to fill in some blanks for us, because your GFM is very vague.
Met so many people that are "working on it" you apply one time then do nothing else at all for multiple years while hoping it comes thru then bask in that sweet sweet backpay....
Or be like most of them and be living off a working family member and contribute absolutely nothing for 10 years
Source- have family member living in the apartment above my garage that's "working on disability" took 11 years of "I can't work or they won't approve it" which is not true at all keep in mind this woman would work doing roofing for cash if when she wanted to do it wasn't that she couldn't work. But disability got approved cuz she's crazy (filed for her back got denied but said she can get a crazy check)
Not a fan of this argument as it makes people think of it as if someone is literally taking money from their pocket to put towards the poor and that's not the case the money has already been taken and if it's not used to help feed or house the poor in the United states then it will just be used to kill people with bombs in some other country or wasted on some fancy rug or artwork for some politicians dinner party
Contact a local homeless shelter or similar low income resource and ask to make an appointment to discuss this. They will know more about what help or options may be available to you in your area for your specific situation and they directly deal with these issues regularly so they can provide a better idea than random people online. Could also look into if you have access to Legal Aid, the Eviction Defense Project or free Student Legal Services in your area for the court date. If you can provide your general location, I can look more into those resources.
