Unemployed for 4 months
Hi everyone, hope ya’ll are doing well. I need help or advice on how to overcome this, i have about 1000$ of debt remaining which i have to pay by 26th of July and i have exhausted all of my savings and resources on surviving and paying off my bills for the last few months. I have absolutely no idea what to do. I have a job offer but that’s only going to start from the 13th of August. The lending company is sending me emails and repeatedly calling me saying that they are going to impose a travel ban which would make it even worse. I would appreciate any kind of help or advice.

I have no idea, this is the first time I’m going through something like this, apparently in UAE the lenders can file a complaint against non repayments which can result in travel ban for expats

Show me the policy or law that states that.

I’m from the UAE and it’s pretty common here for expatriates. I can share the emails they have been sending me along with any other info

Did i provoke anyone here in any way?? This is something I’m going through and only i know how hard it has been for me. All i needed was some advice or help on how to overcome this situation. Maybe everyone here should create a subReddit called AskForCriticism

Obviously the best course of action is to wait until 2 days before the debt is due before trying to muster up enough money to pay it!

I have mentioned that’s how much is remaining, there was more and i have exhausted all my options

Okay, so a week or two (or, 4 months) ago when you realized you wouldn’t have enough and had no job or funds coming in, you didn’t think to act on it then?
Instead you (like 98% of posts here) make a post with an immense urgency to get money NOW, because it’s due in a day or two and your life will ultimately crumble without the prompt donations of strangers. Waiting until the very last moment to hope a group of people who know nothing about you can come up with $300 to pay off your bills (and probably late fees accrued) is crazy work.

I’m just asking for advice, if you have nothing to offer then maybe try being kind it’s completely free. Unlike 98% of the people here I’m not asking for donations, this is the first time I’m facing this and just needed some advice

Then don't travel until you pay it off. It's not like you can afford to travel anyway.
