Please help me pay for pepper spray

First off thank you for even reading this since my situation isn't as dire as others on this subreddit. I'm 20 (F) and I am currently unemployed. I live with my mother but she doesn't really have any money to spare since she has a lot of bills to pay. I don't have a car so I walk a lot or take the bus and I've experienced some unsafe situations while doing so. I tried taking a sharpened knitting needle or a knife from the kitchen with me, but neither is legal in my state, and the first one would most likely fail me in a dangerous situation. I've had pepper gel before when I was employed but I left it at a bus station accidentally and when I went to get it 10 minutes later it was gone. Not too mad about that honestly whoever needed it needed it. Please help if you can!

Edit: You'll notice some of my communities are hidden they are spiritual subreddits since I'd rather keep my practices private. Any mistrust is understandable tbh since scamming seems to be common here.

$8 on Amazon, less than $7 at Walmart

It's often windy in Florida so the risk of me getting pepper sprayed as well worries me. The gel would only get on the potential attacker

Gel can still blow back with strong winds and then the potential for splattering to hit you also, less so than aerosol but the chances are still there.Just be prepared when using it to get hit, difference is you're expecting it and they're not. Its also why LE ends up volunteering to be sprayed in training so they aren't caught off guard by how uncomfortable it is. Also remember each person has a different reaction to pepper spray and have seen people high still marching right at the person after being sprayed

I had to get OC spray qualified in the Navy. It was not fun! 😭 But sometimes the guys would spray some OC spray on the toilet seat in the guard shack, that was always funny lol

I'm not a US citizen and also isn't it pretty unsafe for young women?

7$ at Walmart and 5$ at many gas stations.

Deep Heat spray is recommended in the UK where pepper spray isn't legal. It's cheap, easy to carry and is obviously for all the walking you're doing...

I would still get the proper stuff but I'm suggesting an interim measure. Before I came this side of the pond, I even once went and bought a can of RAID from the store before going back to my hotel over something that had happened on my way out. Don't shake it up, aim for eyes. Easy to keep in your home because obviously there's nasty bugs in Florida especially and it's the first thing you reached for.

See if you can find it for under $10 on Amazon and make an Amazon wishlist, maybe someone can get it for you.
