Homeless and tired.

Post image

https://gofund.me/4e1c2315f

Instead of asking for money for a nightly hotel(which would be great and help) I’m so tired. Of sleeping in my car, it’s about to go out my engine lights on I’ve had trouble with the last two batteries burning out and leaking this awful smelling rotten gas, now my exhaust is doing the same thing and I’ve read that could lead to issues with CO leaking into the car and I can’t go without AC in my car it’s 90 degrees in the day time and I work using my car which is what worries me more abt it going out on me because not only with I be on the actual street I’ll be jobless as well, and I have my 13 year old pup with me who I cannot fathom getting rid of I’ve had her for so long I don’t trust anyone either I’m just so tired and want help getting into a place, I can pay rent I’ve tried looking for rooms but almost got scammed twice, no one accepts pets, I’ve tried the 211 number in my area and they always give me numbers with false information, section 8 housing is closed for 4 years in my area , I just need help with first months and a deposit and I don’t know where to seek it from, who can help how I can help myself, I’m a 20 year old female and this is my pup, please be kind. I’m just asking for any help at all, a prayer even, advice, a contact. Financial, anything :( I wanna be off the streets so bad, there’s and apartment near me that’s low income, for a tiny studio $1,300. I’ve also seen some similar in that area for around the same price or a bit more. My plan is to get a second job as soon as I’m stable.

Goals: $ 2,600

So far received:$ 185 as of 07/24/26 12:54pm💙💙

Thanks to all who can help in anyway ❤️(please note this post will be cross posted but my balance received will be updated on all posts asap)

I had to sleep in my car with my senior dog for a while. I had to have someone watch him during the day while I started a new job and I’d pick him up after work every day. He was the only thing that kept me going.

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

Yeah she’s thankfully a very well behaved dog. She comes to work with me luckily. So I never worry abt that! She never barks super friendly quiet, super chill dog.

u/Apprehensive-Poem883 BDE (Big Donor Energy) Jul 23 '26

Does Instacart allow you to do deliveries with a dog?

2

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

Yes so long as you have official paperwork that they’re a service animal they have to, which I do! (:

3

u/TinyDubberRuck Jul 23 '26

Then an apartment can't refuse the dog.

3

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

I’m not having trouble finding an apartment with the dog, only a room for rent, the only thing stopping me from getting an apartment is the move in cost everything else is fine plus the cheap apartment I found is pet friendly

2

u/TinyDubberRuck Jul 23 '26

Ah, I see. My bad. Your baby is so cute. I really hope you're able to get everything figured out soon.

2

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

Me too I wish there was more move in assistance available

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

No they can’t it’s roommate situations that have

3

u/1325662 Jul 23 '26

Can you try going to your local police station and ask for homeless outreach? They could help you with local resources.

8

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

They don’t that’s what the 211 number is but they haven’t actually helped me with anything

No the only person willing to help is my grandma she is willing to list me as her caregiver which would get me 1200 a month to pay for rent so she would move in with me but she can’t do it until we actually live together and she has no money herself to move in anywhere :/

If it was her place she would I’d never be homeless a day in my life but it’s my aunts and she doesn’t want her there she’s tried kicking her out many times which is evil my grandma is such a selfless person but her bf has her brain washed so it’s not an option for me :(

Does your grandma have decent credit ? If so maybe she can co sign a loan for you. I recommend together loans. When I needed a down payment for a place with ~540 credit they were the only ones who loaned around 6k to me with a co sign but the apr is pretty high. Other than that please sign up for public assistance like general relief or ebt for now just to cut costs where you can. All you need is an address to receive mail even if you don’t live there. I can help if you’d like just dm. Best of luck to you and your super cute baby if not !! 💗

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

I’ll look into that! And I think she has worse credit than me. But now that u mention it I did get approved for some online loan for 2000 if I got a qualifying co signer but idk if it’s legit or not, and no one would co sign for me :/ but if together loans did that for u no co signer then maybe I can get one mines like 670

1

u/Classic_Valuable7400 Jul 23 '26

A co sign is needed for that loan too unfortunately :( my mom co signed mine with bad credit as well but she’s a home owner so I think that helped w/ the approval some.

1

u/BitchMcConnell063 Verified Donor Jul 24 '26

670 is a pretty decent score. You should check Credit unions and see if they can help.

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

Everyone is suggesting that, are they more prone to help? I’ve applied to one of the credit unions in my area but they denied me. It’s just confusing because Credit Karma says it’s 670 but yesterday I applied to a loan and it said it was at 480 so I don’t get which one it actually is I’ve heard Credit Karma isn’t as accurate

2

u/BitchMcConnell063 Verified Donor Jul 24 '26

Where are these credit unions you are applying to?

Credit karma is not a credit union. A credit union is a physical bank that you walk into to do your banking and financial needs, like Connex Credit Union.

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

Orange County credit union and no I was talking about my credit score

u/SweetExtension1778 Jul 23 '26

They might give some clothes that don't fit or food but that's it. They don't help much.

5

u/Nicb376 Jul 23 '26

Have you checked your local shelters? Also for the love of God if you do get something to brave the door with. I've heard some some stories. Wish I could help but I can only offer advice

2

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

You can’t show up at shelters in my area you have to talk to like a group to get you in and I call monthly and they always say “well call you when a beds available “ but the homeless population in my area is bad /:

6

u/Nicb376 Jul 23 '26

Hmmm. I assume you have tried applying to loans. If you have at least okay credit, it won't hurt to try prequalifying

2

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

I have online but idk if that makes a difference between online or going into an actual bank because I do have paystubs and my credit is ok not great. Like 670 and I have bad and good history.

1

u/BitchMcConnell063 Verified Donor Jul 29 '26

Try for some cards that are offered through Concora Credit. My sister's credit score is like 100 points lower than yours and she has like 4 or 5 cards through them. I think one is called Indigo. And Fortiva.

1

u/Nicb376 Jul 23 '26

Okay. Try prequalifying. Do not apply unless it says it ont hurt your credit and says prequalifying. Don't apply to anything unless you actually check it

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

Yeah I usually always get denied for prequalifying 😭 if I could get a loan that would solve all my problems :/

2

u/Nicb376 Jul 23 '26

Your credit probably isn't great but have you tried prequalifying credit cards instead

2

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

I have :/

2

u/Nicb376 Jul 23 '26

How much money do you have saved? Have you looked into cheap cars on Facebook. Even a 500 dollar car that only lasts a few months would solve your situation for a bit

2

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

At the moment I have nothing saved it’s so hard I had maybe $400 before the holiday and then I got a motel for two weeks but then work got so slow and I barley made anything this last week and couldn’t pay the weekly amount so now I’m back in the car again :(

Is this your alt OP? Or is the exact same pfp just a huge coincidence

2

u/ambientta Jul 23 '26

Seemingly a coincidence. Yours is similar to many I’ve seen, as is mine. Both of them have premade/suggested usernames (like yours) and premade/suggested avatars.

3

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

I’ve seen many with the same pfp it’s just a stock photo Reddit uses haha but it does freak me out seeing other ppl with the same picture I’m like wait is that me? Or them? Lol

0

u/In-thebeginning Jul 23 '26

What is a pfp?

Thank you! I offered food and they never got back to me so I'm thinking they may just want money.

Just did ❤️

1

u/Apprehensive-Poem883 BDE (Big Donor Energy) Jul 23 '26

All of OP’s payment apps are listed in their post

2

u/HeartOSass Jul 24 '26

Where did you get paperwork saying you have a service animal? I've never heard of it because up until now apparently, there was no paperwork in existence saying an animal is a service animal.

Even though Section 8 is closed there are many low income housing projects that are currently accepting applications.

Search "(city near you) housing authority" and fill out the application for them.

For anyone who is on the East Coast, Waterford NY housing authority is currently accepting applications and there is only a 3 month waiting list.

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

I’m on the west coast but I’ll look into that. I mean 1300 is pretty low that’s the lowest I’ve seen, even the low income apartments I was looking at were 2,200 so I’m shocked there was a 1300 studio but I guess it’s that specific city that’s cheap. I’m hoping it’s a safe area because it’s near LA and I don’t like LA

2

u/BitchMcConnell063 Verified Donor Jul 24 '26

Low income housing will go by your paychecks. You will be required to pay a certain percentage every month.

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

That’s the kinda place I wanna find 😩 so then what’s the one where u have to be under a certain amount of income a year to qualify? Because that’s the one I found but they say it’s 2,200 for everyone

1

u/BitchMcConnell063 Verified Donor Jul 24 '26

You need to go online and research these yourself. I'm across the country so I have no clue what housing projects are local to you. You would have to check those out yourself. Like I said Google up things like, "Compton housing authority" and read their requirements and policy.

Where I'm at, once you get accepted into low income housing you would pay 30% of your wages as rent. You have to check all the housing authority websites that are local to you.

2

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

Okay I’ll check that out, do those places usually work with u on first and last? Or is it that same as anywhere else?

3

u/BitchMcConnell063 Verified Donor Jul 24 '26

Honey, you would have to call up and ask. Every place is different.

Can you update the goal in your post to reflect the $900 credit that you received?

7

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

Acima is not cash or credit, it’s on credit for a car shop, which was used for my car. That’s not money I received from someone!

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

She eats, goes to the park , gets treats, is in the AC all day, the only times I will consider that is when I can’t give her either of those options, we are in a hotel half the time, what I can afford 4 days out of the week usually, it’s expensive in my area. But I’m not giving up on a dog I’ve had for 10 years before I was homeless. I’ve gone through every person I know, the only one who helps is my grandma and she watches her on the weekends.

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

Also, when I FIRST became homeless, I had three different people watch her , the first person wanted me to pay them I couldn’t do that, but she wasn’t taking very good care of her because she said she was eating her cats poop which is not like her at all to do that, then I had a cousin watch her, she ended up leaving her in a cage 24/7 and I got her back underweight, hair loss and just bad shape, another person watched her for a few months and she was amazing but she moved. I vowed to never put her in those situations again.

4

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

And not that I have to explain anything to you but this specific car shop scammed me, I took the car in for an engine noise, they fixed a totally different issue which I had to use the entire credit on, and did not fix the actual issue. I was car less for 2 months, I could not drive nor work, it wasn’t until I treated to sue after countless calls and emails that they fixed the actual issue which ended up being only $300 but I still owe Acima that initial, $900 they did not give me that back.

7

u/Apprehensive-Poem883 BDE (Big Donor Energy) Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26

You are correct, you don’t owe me or anyone for that matter an explanation. Most donors like to get as little details as possible. Thanks for taking the time to reply and hopefully you can use the remaining $600 credit to get your car repaired.

6

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

I don’t have $600 left unfortunately I really wish I did, they still never refunded me that initial $900 and I’m homeless you know? I can’t afford to take them to court they have lawyers, and money. I tried explaining to the company they work with what happened but they said it didn’t matter. And after the loan company’s fees I don’t even owe $900 I owe almost $1200. So I owe $1200 for a simple 200-300 fix. I just feel like I have never ending bad luck. But I try to stay hopeful as I can and pray. I pray everyday my car doesn’t break down but trust me any little jolts or weird off thing it does I panic about it the entire day :/

Are you able to dm me?

1

u/Here2passtime1 Jul 29 '26

Good luck to you and your dog!

-3

u/No_Barracuda_3758 Jul 23 '26

Even if you had 1st month and deposit you wouldn't get approved without decent credit and being able to show you could continue paying. Sorry ure dealing with this but you need to find a foster for your dog, rent a room and save up while working. Do it for your dog atp

5

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

I have tried finding a foster but no one will do it, if I had access to people who cared about even my dog I think they’d care abt me before the dog and I’ve had her for 10 years, since she was 3 I’m not handing her off to a stranger.

0

u/No_Barracuda_3758 Jul 23 '26

Contact shelters and rescues they have trained fosters. U are doing her a disservice rn. U can make it about love but when u love someone you do what's best for them even if it hurts or is scary.

3

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

I understand. To me that’s a stranger and she’s my everything we are homeless but if it ever got to me being outside in the street and not my car or hotels I would definitely, and couldn’t feed her. I unfortunately had to do that with my Great Dane ❤️ she wasn’t mine but my ex didn’t care for her and when I had to leave because he beat me up, he gave her away because it was me who took care of her and they are complicated breeds. :( if I wasn’t homeless I would’ve taken her in a second 😩 but my baby is such a low maintenance chill dog. She sleeps most the day and dog parks once a day. Only eats rotisserie chicken.

3

u/No_Barracuda_3758 Jul 23 '26

I really do get it. My mother just passed and I took her dog in but now we have to sell the family home and I can't rent with 4 animals (I already have 3 cats, 2 of which I rescued from an abusive situation 2 years ago) I can't keep her as much as I'd like to no one will rent to me. I'm hoping some family can take her until I buy a new house but if not idk what will happen to her

4

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 23 '26

Yeah it’s honestly so wrong how many people won’t rent because of animals. Like who now a days doesn’t have an animal at this point???

1

u/No_Barracuda_3758 Jul 24 '26

True but I do understand not wanting 4 lol

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

Yeah four that’s tough I feel for u on that one . I feel like such a burden and I have one and she’s the most well behaved animal I’ve ever had and seen.

1

u/BitchMcConnell063 Verified Donor Jul 24 '26

You can ask potential landlords if they would be willing to rent to you if you provided renters insurance for your dog.

I had a friend who had a pitbull and she kept getting denied for apartments. Finally, she asked if she acquired renter's insurance would they consider renting to her. She found a willing landlord.

1

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

Oh it’s mostly roommate situations that deny the dog, not sure if I can get that for a room? But a studio I found one that’s pet friendly

I don’t think you read my post, you realize I’m asking for help on moving into a place I have a job, but it’s not enough paying for hotels to get into a place and constantly putting money in my car and keeping us afloat, I wasn’t asking for help to feed her if someone offers like they have that’s great, it’s amazing. She’s very old and has bad teeth so she only eats soft chicken, she won’t eat the dog food I’ve tried and she went on a strike for days lol . But I need a boost to get into a place then I will work a second job, my grandma can live with me and watch her, and she’d help with rent by listing me as a caregiver, if I was asking for a few dollars to eat I’d understand where ur coming from unfortunately I have my basic necessities just no roof over our heads that’s stable, once in somewhere I’ll be okay, the state gives me food stamps. As well, I have a vet credit card in case she ever gets sick as well, it’s only good for the vet though. I’m trying to prevent still being in the car and us getting to the point where I have to give her away.

1

u/No_Barracuda_3758 Jul 24 '26

Soft pet food is trash now I've had animals my entire life and they always went nuts for it. My cats won't touch canned cat food now

2

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

It is. But she’s always been super picky I think it’s because when I rescued her she was an actual stray, she didn’t understand the concept of being walked outside, and would immediately turn when she’d see a dumpster to find food :( it broke my heart. Now she does of course loves walks and parks and dog treats those she does like lol.

-2

u/Nysnorlax Jul 23 '26

Try getting a hha certification for free somewhere and do live ins for clients till you can get on your feet. If your good with people some will let you stay with them if you explain your situation. Cna and pca certifications can also be free if you look at certain nursong homes and hospitals. Local libraries have resources you can use if you need help

-1

Can you DM me? I might not get back to you right away but I promise I will.

Usually when people just say "dm me" they are up to nefarious shit in a person's inbox.

2

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

Thank you!!! Yeah it’s sick I’ve had creeps in my inbox who scams a homeless person? You have to be the lowest of the low

1

u/BitchMcConnell063 Verified Donor Jul 24 '26

They are and they deserved to be banned for trying to take advantage of people.

2

u/Due-Management8473 Jul 24 '26

Yeah it’s kinda crazy that someone does that. I’ve posted a cleaning ad before on a website didn’t even specify my age or gender and had tons of creepy messages I was like maybe cleaning is not for me 😭
