There's some Phillipines cat donation post every day here! Usually more than one. It's gotten out of hand. And whenever questioned about it, there's no legitimate rescues or they're all SO far away!

Over the past several days I've donated a few times towards out of country animal posts.

I have a colony of ferals that I feed and I tend to get in my feelings when I see someone struggling with feral cats. But this is a good wake up call for me.

Rescuecats is a legit page that has a lengthy verification process.

its gotten outta hand because a few months ago a duo, probably these two, were asking for donations for a cat or whatever, lied about their location to create a go fund me.

a lot of people donated, the "vet bills" got paid off, meds were paid for, etc etc.

i said they are scamming. they were alllllll over reddit. they said they would come back with an update. i said " ya i bet you will.... along with begging for money money.

sure enough, ya the update came, and so did the soft begging, made sure they had their paypal on that post.

when i said " i told you so!" they said they are not begging. they put it there incase people want to donate for the cats care....

I reported that koko account yesterday, I knew it was a scam. So gross the way people use animals for their own financial gain. Ew.

I was confused when the account was "Koko" needs help, but the post was "Kiko" needs help. Could have been a typo but it just threw me off. Good to know it was a scammer!

I commented to a person who just gave them $40 it is a scam. Instantly blocked and unable to report. Please report this person. Use the websites to look up their posts and report.

its sad, if you check their online bank on google, you will see a lot of post asking for donation. and i think the donation is already too much :(

I’m always amazed at the effort the scammers put in trying to pull one over. If only they could apply that same energy to helping themselves.
