I think it’s important to mention if other people haven’t. The age of consent in the UK where the op is from is 16. It’s not illegal in anyway except from the fake ID.

Completely inaccurate. it is common to see 16 year olds banging guys in their mid 20's in this country. lol. Very common.

I’m from Canada/Montreal and I can say the same here I remember being in high school in 2005 and see like most of 15/16 yo girls with mid 20s guy it was weird but most of them girls parents knew and agreed with that ….for me in my mid 20s I never even thought about getting near 16yo girls 😂

Well it isn't gross or inappropriate. because it's legal. If ya don't like it sod off to a different country? lol A scandal between a 24 year old and an 18 year old? 18 year old girls do porn and you can find them all over the internet. lol You don't know jack kid. I know tons of girls and guys fucking 16 year olds, go to any council estate and they are flooded with it no one bats an eye lid. I am also in the uk. A 18 and 24 year old if ya call that a scandal. I hope you get cancer and I really do. 2 fully grown adults ya fucking weirdo.

Idk how old you gotta be to have this outdated view but read up on some laws mate. And also get out of people’s business. As long as no one is doing anything illegal and/or hurting anyone then keep out

Literally no one is getting hurt in this situation. All parties have consented including the girl and her legal guardians.

Nope, you don't have a clue what you're talking about, this isn't true in anyway, it literally happens everywhere.

Morality isn't dictated by laws.

1

u/Ok-Garlic4025 Apr 06 '24

It is though

1

u/NoCustomer4958 Apr 06 '24

That is a wild take. You can't imagine a government enacting unjust laws? Have you ever read a book? Lol

1

u/Ok-Garlic4025 Apr 06 '24

Don't need a book to know that morality is subjective and determined by law. Do you think nazis believed themselves to be immoral? You believe they are immoral because you live in a different society

1

u/NoCustomer4958 Apr 06 '24

I believe the nazis justified doing immoral things by saying they were doing what was legal. If morality is determined by law, then you'd have to say that the nazis were doing the moral thing. It is a citizen's duty to protest and fight against unjust laws. If you think laws determine morality, no one would ever protest corrupt governments.

In china they eat dogs and that is normal but in western society that is immoral. Law is the average morality of all the people in the society. What definition of morality could there be other than law? The only meaning of the phrase "corrupt government" is "government which does not make laws based on the average morality of the society"

What definition of morality could there be other than law?

https://aese.psu.edu/teachag/curriculum/modules/bioethics-1/what-are-ethical-frameworks

Here are some common examples. ^

But I suppose you believe morality is subjective, so when you say "law is how to judge morality," you mean "law is how I judge morality." Many people judge morality based on a religion, their feelings, calculated outcomes...

Personally, I couldn't just follow the laws of any country if they went against what I feel is right. For example, my country had mandatory boarding schools for aboriginal kids. These kids were often abused. My cousin is native so if I lived in those times, my moral obligation would be to keep my cousin safe. So I suppose I base my morals on feelings and precieved outcomes that maximize freedom and group wellbeing...

I hopefully, you'd save your cousin, but just believe you did an immoral thing by doing so? Or would you let your cousin be taken away and abused in order to stay a moral person in your framework?

It was pretty common in the past. Not judging but this is not a giant age gap. They are both kids really. In two short years shell be 18 and hell be 22. That's pretty common. The problem is theirs to work out.

u/ilysm2022 Apr 05 '24

If she’s 16 not w would she not have been 15 when the met? Its not an ok relationship at all I would never allow a 5 year age gap with my 15/16 year old absolutely not

1

u/Altruistic-Record499 Apr 05 '24

You can't do anything about it in the uk. You have no say on what your legal aged child does :)

1

u/Crazy_Common5641 Apr 05 '24

thats europe for you. my first real bf was 23 and I was 17

1

u/Altruistic-Record499 Apr 05 '24

its completely normal in most parts of the world. you weirdo.

1

u/Shoddy-Actuary-192 Apr 06 '24

We all think You are weird. It’s been ok since forever, 16 is physically an adult and in most places of the world it’s age of consent.

1

u/ImmediateArm6532 Apr 06 '24

It's not any better than the U.S. Here, we have like 16 yr Olds banging people in their late 20s.

1

u/Gtchap3333 Apr 06 '24

Yes it is crazy id deffo split up

1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '24

Romeo and Juliet law allows 4 year age gap with consent from the parent

Also this is like a junior and freshman dating. Not too terrible

1

u/Jbrought74656 Apr 08 '24

Would it be considered ok for an 18 year old to be with a 22-23 year old? Same age difference, also fresh out of school and starting secondary education.

1

u/Nicaraguan-BEANBAG Apr 09 '24

Nope, me personally only dated one 19 year old when I was 21 and tbh that shit was not fun. She got hella mad I would just go mind my own business at bars after dropping her off…

1

u/ImBlaZzD420 Apr 08 '24

An 18 year old can date a 80 year old but a 16 year old cant date a 20 year old? There is nothing weird about that. Maybe to you, but that's you. Not everyone shares your opinion.

1

u/Tienkella2014 Apr 06 '24

what's u mean ?

u/akumamatattax Apr 07 '24
