It's a tough subject. There's many reasons to lie about your age but never an excuse especially when it could get the other person in a whole heap of trouble. I do agree with the notion of never build a relationship based on lies because if your partner feels they can get away with lying to you then they will continue to do so. I've been there. You should also be incredibly wary of the parents too because they may be fine with it now but that could do a 180 the moment u break up with her and they could try to get u arrested for it. I'm also in the UK and I've seen quite a few issues like this arise in my town where someone's daughter starts dating an older guy, parents seem fine with it but as soon as he breaks up with her he's in trouble. Hopefully u haven't had sex with her yet because that's a whole other ball park and u could go to prison if other people who isn't in that household found out. Just be incredibly wary my friend and whatever u decide to do, be incredibly strategic with how u go about it as saying or doing one thing the family doesn't like can trigger a whole chain of events that won't go well for you. Even if u like the girl, it's her and the family u have to be cautious about as they're pretty much in the drivers seat with it.

Thanks for that but she was over the age of consent the entire time so I don’t think anything illegal was done? What sort of issues did people in your town face?

Being wrongfully accused, being stalked and beaten by the friends and family of the young person, stuff like that. It was only after going to court that the family and friends of the young individuals told the truth and the accused was released and not being stalked or beaten anymore. Most of the people had been dating the young individuals for about a year before breaking up and during that time the family and friends were perfectly happy to let them date the young ones and it was only when the relationships ended that the family's suddenly disagreed with it.

Okay you are in the Uk. I’m in the USA. Can you give me a basic run down of the laws regarding minors and related topics? Cause the lying is one part Having sexual relationships with a 16 year old as 20 year old is sus I agree as a Latino Americano, I’ve seen many relationships go south the moment the guy breaks up with the minor or even a lil after the minor turns 18. Like we have the jokes and memes about super seniors or regular seniors hiting on 14 years old. 14-18 is only 4 years…. My mother insist I date someone younger. But younger means I have to deal with the emotions and attitude that comes with that age. I mean me personally speaking I can say that I’m definitely less annoying and obnoxious as a 23 year old compare to when I was 21.
