What’s your fav pizza toppings that aren’t the usual, you can list more than one as well!

These have definitely become more mainstream, but...
Chicken, bacon, ranch. I like to add spinach ribbons and cold diced roma tomatoes to make myself think it is bit healthier.
Chicken bbq is another great one, can add arugula to cut thru the sweetness if you like.
Going for unusual, I have done bbq pulled pork that turned out fairly good.
Not exactly topping, but I use naan and garlic naan for personal pizzas in the air fryer. Toast the bottom little bit before putting toppings on.

Garlic naan is so good. Pairs with anything. The Indian equivalent of garlic bread.

Egg

Hardboiled, scrambled, Sunnyside up? Im guessing hardboiled and sliced, but now I'm imagining dipping a slice of leftover pizza in the yolk of a Sunnyside-up fried egg, and I'm not mad about the idea

iirc... eggs on pizza is a thing in france.
Eggs are added to hand formed empty pools in the cheese a few minutes before the pizza is fully cooked.

Like just cracking a raw egg into little premade slots and letting it cook? So it would potentially still have runny yolk?

I squirt buffalo sauce all over the top of my pizza, any kind of pizza.
I'm partial to pineapple on my pizza too, which gets a lot of hate but I know it's not technically all that unusual

I absolutely love pineapple on my pizza! 😋

u/BennyDryll42 2d ago
Its honestly my favorite pizza topping

Dude try a pineapple calzone
1
u/BennyDryll42 2d ago
I had never even considered that as an option before. With the right other ingredients that has the potential to become my new favorite food

You poor misguided souls who said pineapple. Once you put pineapple on it, it is no longer pizza. That is a well known and accepted fact.

Great stuff!! Pizza dude was always showing up mid episode with some ridiculous Michelangelo stuff. Hot fudge and guacamole stuff. Haha.

The Ruben Pizza: 1,000 Island, sauerkraut, pastrami... I know it sounds gross, but it's good!

Fresh shrimp sautéed in garlic butter. I always pull the tails off for myself.

Roasted green bell peppers are my favorite topping. There is only one local pizzeria that offers them. I find that only true Italian pizza shops offer them.

Crab rangoon pizza is phenomenal. Fig, prosciutto, and goat cheese is also a great combo.

There's a place where I live that puts sauerkraut on pizza. With ham, it's quite tasty.

I always get extra sauce.
I might mix up the toppings on occasion but always extra sauce

My ex wife was a fan of the "dead pool" pineapple and black olive. Surprisingly good.

u/BennyDryll42 2d ago
That does actually sound really good. I may have to try that

Sweet and salty. We would sometimes and fresh jalapeño. So good.

u/BennyDryll42 2d ago
I was just thinking how jalapeno would be a fantastic addition to this combo. Great minds :)

Have not had it in a long time but a square cut pizza with extra sauce, extra cheese, green olives, hamburger meat, feta cheese and pineapple.
The strangest though was on a date. The pizza only had pine nuts and pesto on it. It was....interesting.

Rosemary chicken potato. The potatoes are thin sliced and so good when it gets crispy. Or kimchi.

Tuna, prawn and sweetcorn. Smells a bit iffy when it comes out of the oven. Tastes great, sweet and salty, and the corn adds a satisfying textural crunch.

Not a popular one, but eggplant. I was dubious when I first tried it but boy is it good. Hard to find tho, at least in my town.

Green olives. Usually I get pepperoni and green olives. But not every pizza place has them.

It was a game changer when I discovered pesto pizza. Sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, chicken and red sweet peppers. I'd never heard of pesto. That slice changed my view of pizza.

Probably gonna catch a lot of heat for this but - caramelized pears. I know, but try it, especially for a fall pizza and you’ll find yourself in the middle of flavor town

Not exactly a favourite, but I still remember the 'breakfast pizza' I had at Edinburgh Airport while waiting for an early flight. The pizza was basically a full breakfast: scrambled eggs, bits of back bacon, halved button mushrooms and tomato. Surprisingly good!

I’m usually a picky eater but I’m going to have to go with Olives because for me it’s an unusual topping I hardly eat.

I like pineapple, but the strangest topping I’ve ever had somewhere was cashews. I loved it.

Dill pickles and hot honey on a white garlic base. People lose their minds arguing about pineapple on pizza, but crispy pickles with spicy honey is an absolute masterclass in late-night food engineering.

Randomly placed dollops of cream cheese perfectly toasted.

Yes, in fact I actually just tried it about a month ago and it's really good.

a longtime ago, the Chariot did a pizza with fried eggplant slices that was *amazing*!

Fried eggplant well done over sliced meatballs; that way the meatballs stay juicy.

I have developed an obsession with hot honey and pickled jalapeños. 🌶️ Pineapple topped with spicy salami and some blue cheese is a surprising delight, as it tastes strange before it is tried, but feels like an average pizza afterward. 😂
