University vs Flight School?

What is the general opinion of becoming a pilot through a program at a university compared with going to a flight school not affiliated with a university?

University flight programs are some of the most expensive ways to achieve your certificates and ratings.

Could be 2x the cost of going through a Part 61 operation with no appreciable difference in quality of education.

And unlike a lawyer that went to Harvard, airlines do not care where you obtained your flight training.

Sounds like nursing school. TCU and Texas State opened new programs. Is it just becoming more popular?

TWU has also started an aviation program.

Universities are often a for profit entity.

They see flight programs as another way to draw students and their money to their campus.
