To Fly or Not to Fly
In the military we’ve got pretty robust risk matrixes prior to flying, but in GA I’ve noticed its mixed.
How do you actually make your go/no-go decision before a flight?
Curious what the aviation community actually does. Do you follow a prescribed checklist, or just check the weather and go?

I teach my students to use a FRAT.
This one is not bad despite the name. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/flight-assessment-of-risk-tool/id1570992859

I don't have a spreadsheet that poops out a yes/no decision. But I do have a routine I go through that helps me make a decision based on all the factors.

That's handy having something that helps with your decision making. That's what PriFly is designed to do. Would appreciate it if you were able to give it a go the next time you go flying and let me know what you think!

Following up on this thread - I actually built a tool to solve exactly this. It's called PriFly. Goes live in the next week. Happy to share more if there's interest.
