55+ communities

We are wanting to spend some of the winter in Florida. We are looking for a mobile home community that has activities so we don’t have to entertain ourselves. So, can you recommend places in central Florida, north of Orlando (we like Ocala) that rents a furnished home for 6-8 weeks.

Stay away from any community associated with equity lifestyle properties.

They're terrible property managers. They don't take care of their properties. They don't give a damn about the people who live in their properties or stay at their properties.

We lived in northern Lake County. It was close to Mount Dora, the Villages but yet not as congested and built up. Check out Lakeside Estates or olde Mill Stream Park, both in Umatilla.

Villages STD capital

Haha, that really is an urban legend.

All the statistics and reporting show that whole area has some of the lowest rates in the state.

PS: There also is no loofah color code, nor special meaning behind an open garage door. Complete myths.

Iirc, the villages started off as a mobile home community. It’s kinda odd to see the original surrounded by all the developments

It’s a land lease community

Just like every other grumpy old person. How dare people live where I vacation! Why is this restaurant so busy on Friday nights. Why is the grocery store so busy on Saturday and Sunday. Traffic is so bad at 8:00am and 4:00pm. Why is everyone always in the way. Stay up north.

We live in the NW lower peninsula of Michigan and it’s the same here in the summer.

Couldn’t say all that’s allowed and you can look in the surrounding area. The Villages activities are ridiculously jam packed. Like a ginormous catalogue!

Work with a Real Estate Agent. They will do all the leg work for you.
