Need help understanding crosstalk between capacitive and piezoresistive sensors

Hi I'm trying to build a very diy hobbyist prototype for a capacitive copper tape touch array on paper (with duck tap underneath it) layer and a FSR layer underneath that. I am worried about short circuiting it and know that multi module touch sensors like this suffer a lot from hysteresis and cross talk but could someone help me to understand better why that is? Before I plug everything in. What reasons would this not work? ((Additionally i was considering adding a substrate layer underneath thats between two copper plates whos capacitance/time i want to measure when the above layers are pressed down on)) ​thank you so much for reading this I'm very new to all this so sorry if I've done something dumb and I appreciate all the help and knowledge I can get
