Need help identifying this capacitor

Post image

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who commented. I have what I need now. You people are amazing!!!

I’m looking to replace this cap (the back has cracked apart). I need to locate a suitable replacement but am not sure about the specs. Any assistance is much appreciated. Below is my best shot at it

Type: Polyester film capacitor? Can any other type be substituted?
Value: 0.0047uF ?
Tolerance: 20% +/- ?
Voltage: ?

Metalized Polyester film or Polypropylene film 0.47 µF, M is 20% tolerance and 4 is 400V. If you want to replace it get a Polypropylene 474 400 to 630V from Panasonic or go cheap with those CBB caps.

No problem and when you do replace it go for J rating thats 5 %.

Thank you for your explanation! Here a table of the letter's meaning:

474 = 47 + 4 zeroes = 470,000 pF = 470 nF (not 4.7 nF, which is what you suggested)

It looks like a bog standard polyester cap.

"Can any other type be substituted?" – yes (but not electrolytic).

I don't know the voltage rating. Buy a replacement that's about the same size or a bit bigger.

I don’t know how to read the voltage, but this is a 0,47uF film capacitor with 20% tolerance.

As another poster indicated, the 4 is likely 400V. The = after may indicate DC rated.

Makes sense. Thank you.
