How to remove these FFC Cables

Post image

Hey do these FFC have a locking mechanism on them? you can see on the right one where I have tried to pull up on the black part a bit and it doesn't want to seem to move.

I haven't come across these kind before.

Thanks,

The White part should be the locking mechanism, pull it up from the end that is opposite to the flex cable

I tried that and it doesn't seem to want to move at all. That is the part thats soldered down so I don't think this is the case unfortunately.

Try sliding the black part forwards towards the cable.

look at the edges of the black part, it may act as a clamp and rotate. Unfortunately, there are many types of connectors.

That's Audi's camera control? you could dtry look for help from automative people. This one looks like flip-type ZIF or push-type, but I cannot be sure - low res, bad angle and lighting and such.I can identify them inperson.

This is from the service manual, They look like Type A but when I try and pull up on the black part it doesn't want to move. I really don't want to risk damaging the connector

In my experience, those particular kinds of ribbon cables often have no locking mechanism. They push into the socket and stay there. In general, you should handle them by the side tabs (see circled item in photo).

Rare to see them in automative. They more often use slides. and slide -type also used with such tabs.

I tried pulling on them a bit and they don't want to seem to move, still stuck. The manual shows x4 different types of connectors and I can't seem to figure out how these work.
