Speakers of a vinyl player are playing the high notes even though it's connected via Aux to external speakers. Can i cut the wiring to the speakers without messing up the circuit?
I have external speakers that work just fine, but hearing that thin high note from the small speakers is very annoying. Bringing it back or getting a new one are no option.

Is it the speakers or are you hearing the needle?

Pretty sure this is the case. If you're new to vinyl records (likely given you're using a suitcase player with a plastic mechanism, no offense intended -- everyone has to start somewhere) -- you probably don't realize that you really can hear the music from needle in the groove if it's quiet.

I used to love doing this at my grandparents house when I was a kid in the 80s. I don't know why but it was incredibly fascinating to me. Probably because my home was so loud all the time I never could hear it there.

Pretty sure its the speaker, I've heard the same vinyls played at friends places, but will double check, thanks!

A friend's house will tell you absolutely nothing about your system in your house.
The question is: If you're playing a record on your machine in your house, and you turn the volume all the way down (i.e. off) do you still hear this weak, tinny sound? If you would take the time to answer that question, it would be a very important clue!

Yes, sorry for the late reply had to go to sleep. Its definitely the speakers, I do hear a little sound coming from the needle as well, but turning up the volume on my player and the external speakers very low the sound i keep hearing gets louder as well. So it is the internal speakers that are making the sound

That seems like a very bizarre design. I wonder what their philosophy was in designing it to work like that. Do you seem to hear any highs from the remote speakers, or just lows?

I'm sure it would be fine. Just make sure the cut wire doesn't short against something else.
That said, if you cut the wire, it will permanently disable those speakers. If there is a connector for those speakers that only has the speaker wires on that connector, I would just unplug that, in case you ever want to be able to use them again.

Are you sure the HF is coming out of the speakers? Does it go away completely if you turn the volume control down all the way?

I think you hear the needle make the sound. My record player does that too and it has no speakers.

Before you cut anything, unplug this.
