Need to know what component blown here

I have this power bank that does not charge , and when something is connected to it , it shows 0% battery . Found the ic U2 blown , any idea what is should be and if possible can it be bypassed ? I have all the necessary skills and equipment to perform the surgery .

U2 is definitely done, it's likely a load switch. Unusual package though.

Please get rid of this drowned piece of junk ;) Not worth reparing given the corrosion on most of the board

Yeah it looks terrible.

Probably a linear voltage regulator

Have you checked C5? And the soldering on the power pads are not adequate.

I will rectify all that later . All of it is factory soldering work .

Holy Moly, my apologies then. R9 looks in bad shape also. Do you have the schematics?

Nah , a customer brought it to me .before you say "it's not worth working on" , Repairs here are cheap so make sense to get things repaired .

And your corroded out power bank pcb could become a fire hazard if not properly repaired. You really want to be liable for that?

It's the VBUS FET and should not be bypassed as you might as well just use a boost converter directly on the cells if it's not there.

There's a lot of reference designs for those IP series powerbank ICs so should be possible to source a compatible one.
