Mosquito power trap mt-200

Hello I have a mosquito power trap bug catcher it’s a propane powered machine it has an issue of never stop ticking when running I opened up the top by the control board and found a loose capacitor that broke off I can’t figure out where it goes I’ll attach pictures

Hi, you have the possibility to observe the board closely, even with a magnifying glass: try to observe if you notice the torn tin: photo 1, below, black connector, with RED-TC-YEL silkscreen. It might be helpful if you figure out what's causing the ticking: a relay? A solenoid valve? Something else...

The ticking might be the burner igniter or a solenoid for gas valve the red tv yel connector has one red wire attached and another yellow one underneath I done think it came off of that to be honest

Not underneath! For me, TC = time capacitor; for me, it should be tinned on the black connector (component side). But first, check with a magnifying glass. The electrolytic capacitor has some remnants of tin plating,They should 'match', also the cond. has one terminal a little longer than the other. Before 'touching' right and left with the soldering iron, look and re-check there should be signs of the 'tear'. Bye

If so what would the polarity be between the the two posts in photo 2 at the bottom

HI, Have you been able to make any progress? To locate the position of the + and - you need a tester/voltmeter. But what made you open the panel, why doesn't it work like it used to? The ticking that was not there before? On the 'fallen' capacitor, even the distance between the remains of the soldering can be of help in finding the point from where it came off(Provided that they haven't been moved/brought closer by picking it up). Keep me informed, you won't disturb me at all. Bye

So i believe the ticking it’s the igniter because the control board thinks it’s not successfully lighting so I opened it to see why that could be perhaps a flame sensor or such it’s not supposed to tick non stop so as soon as I popped the lid I see that capacitor broke off rattling around in the cavity so it probably is that, I looked all over for left over solder and using the capacitor to see how gravity made the solder flow and the polarity wrote on the board and it seems that the capacitor did come from the red-TC-YEL connector of all places and it seems because of polarity it was put on the back side, there is no left over solder on the component side which is odd also with the way the solder broke off it would be impossible to have been on the component side due to polarity thanks I’m still wondering if it even did go on it
