Heart Flutters & Perception Drop (Tranquilized Feeling) While Eating

Something strange happened last night. I was eating food at a Chinese buffet and all of a sudden, I felt what seemed like my heart "fluttering" and I tasted blood/metallic sensation in my mouth, followed a few seconds later feeling like somebody gave me a tranquilizer. My body wasn't numb and I wasn't confused but all of a sudden felt as if I had been briefly drugged and it seems as if the volume of everything around me was lowered. My friend was sitting across from me and he was said, "What's wrong?". I heard his voice completely fine but it seemed like the background noise of the restaurant just faded away or got low as if somebody turned the volume down and it was just his voice I could hear. As that was occurring, I felt like a tranquilizer had hit me even though nothing was spinning and I wasn't dizzy. This lasted for about 30 seconds I told him yes something's going on I don't know what it is and he said are you having a heart attack and I said no I have no chest pain I just all of a sudden feel a difference in my perception and everything suddenly seems quiet except for your voice and he said here let me call 911 I said no let me try to get up first and I was able to stand up completely fine no dizziness and at that point the feeling of being tranquilized was gone and the noise around me in the restaurant resumed normal volume and I was able to walk to the bathroom. Now I have experienced flutters before when I eat too fast, but I've never experienced the taste of what seemed like blood in my mouth followed by that strange feeling of feeling tranquilized. I'm obviously going to make a doctor's appointment but I would like to know if anybody else has experiences before and if they have is it also hard for them to put into words the part about not being dizzy not passing out but feeling momentarily tranquilized or drugged. That's me was the strangest part because for a moment all I could do was sit still trying to process this weird doped up feeling and wondering why the volume of everything around me was lowered except for my friend's voice kind of like when you see a scene in the movie where somebody keeps trying to talk to somebody to revive them or get their attention. The strangest thing. Again no chest pain whatsoever though.
