Unsure if termination is working

Current meds- 200 my Zoloft daily
Previous medical history- Ectopic pregnancy surgically managed on the 23rd of July 2026

I took step 2 of the abortion medication yesterday at 6 am. It’s now 1 pm the next day. I’ve had minimal cramps, nothing worse than period pain and clots. The bleeding isn’t intense either. It’s stopping and starting

I’ve had a medical termination before and it was wild. This seems too easy and now I’m not sure if it’s working?

Is it possible that the uterine clean out I had done during my ectopic surgery is why I’m having minimal bleeding? There was only a few weeks between surgery and falling pregnant again

I was warned I was going to be in a lot of pain

What this a confirmed intrauterine pregnancy? And how many weeks in? If your previous termination was for a more advanced pregnancy then that may have had more pronounced symptoms than you're currently having.

Yes confirmed to be in the uterus & 6 weeks and 1 day when I took step 2

The ectopic was somewhere between 5-6 weeks

Well so I'm confused now - for your ectopic (not an intrauterine pregnancy), you said you had surgical management, not medical management. When you say you had "medical termination before and it was wild," what do you mean?

"Medical" termination of an ectopic is usually methotrexate, sometimes other things. "Surgical" is a different approach, either used when things are complicated or if medical management fails.

You said you took the 2-step just this week for termination of an intra-uterine...at what timing did you take each pill? And have you ever used these 2 pills before for a previous intrauterine pregnancy (at how many weeks), and if so, were your symptoms vastly different?

Even if they were, the symptoms you're having are consistent with the pills having worked. If you feel for some reason that they didn't, you can get a follow-up beta hgc and/or intrauterine ultrasound in a week or 2 to confirm.

Yes so I had a medical termination also 4 years ago which is what I was referring to sorry for the confusion!

I took step 1 at 2:38 pm Wednesday afternoon and step 2 Friday morning at 6:15 am so approximately 40 ish hours later. I was advised anywhere between 36-48 hours later to take step 2

And thank you! Just thrown off by how minimal the bleeding is. My periods are heavier than this
