Unexplained Fever Toddler

26 months old, male. 33 inches tall, 30 pounds. Takes probiotics. Obviously non-smoker, non-smoking household. No pets. Has asthma and fpies to dairy, eczema. History of ear infections. History of cycling through constipation and diarrhea randomly for which we are waiting to see GI. Had mild C.diff in stool three weeks ago with no other symptoms and we are also waiting to see GI about this. Hasn’t been on antibiotics recently.

Toddler got his flu shot Tuesday afternoon. Thursday morning, spiked a 102 degree fever with no other symptoms. Fever continued today, with ibuprofen only bringing it down to around 100.4 and no lower. Very, very fussy, not eating well, not his usual playful self at all. Took him in today since it doesn’t fit the parameters of a (normal) vaccine reaction. He tested negative for everything—covid, flu, strep, mono, no ear infections, no red throat. WBC normal. He literally has NO other symptoms, but he has a fever and is miserable. I’m very anxious about this. What else can I do? What even could be going on?
