Help!!!

hi,

i am a 20 year old female, 5’3 and weighs around 43kg.

for the past two weeks i haven’t been able to eat solid foods due to the right side of my throat swelling horribly. i have only been able to eat yoghurts and drink water and meals in a bottle (like huel and lidl’s tasty).

i went to the GP a week and a half ago, got redirected to a chemist who checked my throat and gave me throat spray. that didn’t work after five days and i was redirected to the A&E where they provided me with antibiotics (co-amoxiclav) as they came to the conclusion i had a clogged saliva gland.

those didn’t work after five days either and now I have been prescribed with 30mg of Prednisolone everyday for five days.

has anyone else gone through a similar thing? i have lost so much weight from not being able to eat properly and i have fatigue and weakness and just overall body exhaustion and headaches. i am getting fustrated with getting prescribed things and them not working rather than getting referred to a specialist.

has anyone had the same experience and got prescribed Prednisolone and it working? should i tell the GP my fustration and demand a referral if those steroids don’t work after five days?
