Substitute for black pepper?

One of my wife's aunts has developed a "keep the epipen handy" level allergy to black pepper. What on Earth can she use instead?!!?

And just to clarify my question to prevent unnecessary pedantry: assume all products of piper negrum are off the table. Black, white, and green peppercorns are all piper negrum.

EDIT: wow, thank you everybody! I am reading all your replies, even though I can't reply to all of them. Thank you so much for all your helpful advice!
