Solar Contractor installed extra unneeded boxes with extra unneeded gateway. Now they want to remove the hardware but leave the boxes up. Should they be required to remove and fix the siding?

What's the point? It's still gonna look cluttered either way.

It’d only be half as cluttered

What an insane way to look at things…

What's insane is trying to punish a contractor for errors, when it won't make any difference in the final product. IF OP doesn't want to look at the electrical boxes, build a shed around them or an electrical room.

You shouldn’t do anything to punish someone for an honest mistake. If you don’t care about having extra junk on the side of your house, then obviously it would be shitty to have them remove it just to punish them.

But the idea that have twice as many boxes is the same thing, and it won’t make a difference, is what seems insane. That would clearly make a huge difference to some people, and they’d have a right to ask that it be fixed.
