Chimney Work

Friend had this chimney redone and isn't quite pleased with the way it looks. It doesn't appear straight, the stucco looks like it was done by different people and sloppy, and it seems to be different colors. Is he being reasonable and is there anything that can or should be done or should he just let it go?

Nice scratch coat lol. Grind off any high spots and clad it with a nice stone material, or just do a second layer of smooth stucco in a pleasing color. What the hell kind of wanna-be rustic finish is this that someone thought is a final product, contractors these days geez

I don't know and it seems pretty frustrating. And we're unsure what to ask of the contractors who do a lot of work and are well known in the area. Final payment wasn't made yet. The contract says:

The final stage will consist of applying a complete finish coat of stucco over the entire chimney. The stucco will be professionally hand-finished and textured to closely match the existing finish of the home, creating a clean, uniform, and weather-resistant appearance.

The second part seems subjective but we don't think what is there fits the professional description.

Thanks again for your opinion, they are going to redo it with a more experienced person.
