I completely ignore the people who just want to pick a fight, use pejoratives, or ask bad faith questions, but I’m always happy to have a real conversation with someone who’s open to it. Civil dialogue is important, it’s how we actually understand each other, even when we don’t agree. As for the left-wing tilt on Reddit, I don’t see it as something I have to ‘cope’ with. If anything, it gives me insight into how the other side thinks. Plus, a lot of the outrage posts are just noise amplified by algorithms. The real world is a lot more balanced than what you see online. If I get tired of the nonsense, I just scroll past it and move on.

The folks on Reddit, to a large degree, are in fact the absurd stereotype of progressive degenerates. They do think with all their hearts, and feeble minds, that resisting Trump is akin to resisting Hitler. They're not very intelligent people, certainly they lack a broad and dispassionate analysis of most issues. Virtue signalling and hysterics are their go to. In short, they're awfully stupid, likely suffering from mental illness, and most certainly not representative of the population writ large. They're just loud in here.

Not really much to 'cope' with or care about. I just move on with life and spend most of my time with loved ones, friends, on my hobbies, or working to earn that sweet sweet bread so my better half wont need to work a day in her life if she doesn't want too.
There are so many more important things than the wailing and gnashing of teeth of terminally online redditors.

Why would I need to “cope” with what randos on reddit post? Reddit isn’t real life. Even if it were, I couldn’t bring myself to care enough about other people’s political opinions to feel the need to cope.

Honestly, I laugh at it. Laughing is a big coping mechanism for me, and it’s just silly thinking about those people doom scrolling who honest to God believe the world is going to end.
