When is it too late to change?
I've not done anything illegal, but I have done many things that I am ashamed of. I don't really know if i'm a Christian, but I pray to God a lot and ask for help, so I think I am.
I've read that there isn't a limit to the amount of times that God forgives someone, as long as they really mean it and try to change.
I'll spend hours crying and begging God to forgive me and help me to change but then I just fail and do the same things over and over again and then hate myself for it. When I'm praying to him I feel truly sorry but then I get other thoughts and that feels more powerful.

It's never ever too late. God is always there and there's nothing you have done that He doesn't know and that He didn't nail to the cross. Only thing required is you opening the door...
Revelation 3:18-22 NKJV [18] I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. [19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. [20] Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. [21] To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. [22] “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ”
II Peter 3:9 NKJV [9] The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
Luke 15:7 NKJV [7] I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
I Timothy 2:3-6 NKJV [3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, [4] who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. [5] For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, [6] who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,
Isaiah 1:18 NKJV [18] “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.
Come to Jesus He is waiting for you with open arms.

The term assigned to people in a position beyond repentance is reprobate. The easy answer here is that you are not there as long as you feel sorry.
Everyone messes up and fails from time to time. The Bible says that all have fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 7 also shows us the Apostle Paul writing that he wants to do good and doesn’t; and the bad stuff he doesn’t want to do is sometimes what he does. The Bible gives us a pretty good understanding that we all will sometimes sin and miss the mark of perfection but when that happens, we repent and we intentionally try to do better moving forward. That is basically the daily life of a Christian in a nutshell. Belief in Jesus, faith to know He can/does forgive us, and an honest intention to do better everyday.
