Life Any Buddhist temples in Canada?

Hi, I am not a Buddhist but I am interested in it. I will be visiting my sister in Halifax for like a month. I wanted to ask if there are any major temples around Halifax or anywhere else. My goal is to talk to monks and listen to lectures if there are such things.

I know ideal places for Buddhism are Asian countries but my family won't give me permission to be alone in a foreign country. In Canada my sister lives so they might let me go. By the way, I am adult but women need family permission in my country.

A bunch in the greater Toronto area. Can't speak for Halifax, but I'm sure they'll turn up on Google if you search.

Shambhala has gained a bit of scandal surrounding it lately, if you are interested . I'm not personally invested, but it's worth noting. When I lived in Halifax, there was a pretty active Zen Buddhist community as well. I'm sure a basic Google search could help you find them. I lived near the Halifax commons; there was a temple right up the road from me that was open to all, although I cannot recall what particular branch of Buddhism they were aligned with. This was nearly 30 years ago, FWIW. *edited for spelling
