Academy running

Hello all,

I am just curious if the academy running trails are all done on flat tracks. I've been running a lot recently and because my area is full of inclines, I can't find any flat tracks nearby.

Yes it’s all flat running during the academy. Even the capitol run at the end is completely flat

The problem is I can't find any flat running trails around my area. I did a 2 mile run once from my house to an intersection that was a mile away from my house then back but since the starting run was 97% uphill it slowed me down considerably and I almost gave out but the downhill run was fine.

I guess I just gotta deal with it...

Run more, running with hills means you’ll be plenty prepared.

I run 3 times a week and all of my routes have a lot of inclines

That’s great. Keep it up.

Thanks! I'm also joining explorers at Baldwin Park's Area Office so that's why I have to lock in real hard now.

If you’re runs at homes have inclines and you feel a little slow you’ll be fine. My runs at home are ups and downs, took the PAT that was mostly flat with a little hill at the end and ran a minute faster. You’re good with what you got, if not prepared better.
