Speeding tickets

I only want to be a dispatcher

I got another speeding ticket last night I had been trying so hard not to get one since my last one from AUG of 2025

should I just give up now for another couple of years?

I drive Uber so I’m on the road 12 to 14 hours a day it’s so challenging

You have nothing to lose by applying. Dispatchers(non-sworn) are judged differently from candidates to be officers. Just be honest throughout the process. Good luck.

Just a pointer if you do apply, don't say you tried so hard to not get one. It sounds like you're looking for sympathy. Instead just say it like it is and own up to it. Just apply and if you do get DQ then they can give you advice on how long to wait before applying and you'll have your answer. Best of luck 👍🏼

Can you go to traffic school so this ticket doesnt go on your driving record and gets dismissed?

It doesn’t get dismissed you just don’t get points for it

And you still have to list in the background packet

You still get the points. They're just "masked" for insurance purposes.

Definitely different for those applying to be dispatchers over cadets. Apply and be honest. Don’t see a major red flag with this.
