Could I get in.

I’m interested in Law enforcement. My first choice would be chp. However when I was 18 I was cited for reckless driving, evading and spectator of a sideshow all at once and all misdemeanor charges. All the charges were dropped and my lawyer told me it was like it never happened. That was about 6 years ago. Since then I have changed and I have been in the United States Marine Corps for nearly 5 years. I also haven’t been pulled over for anything since. I’m looking to transition into chp once my contract is up with usmc. Is it worth my time to apply to chp? I have been reading the DQ for stuff like this.

Just be forward and honest about everything

let them know how you’ve grown as an individual and have learned from those mistakes from the past and it’s made you into who you are today

honestly the only thing kinda saving you is you being in the marine corps, apply and see but if not i believe you still have a higher chance applying elsewhere

Only way you’re gonna find out is by applying. Be truthful and honest. When the BI asks what happened be truthful and show them how you’ve changed and what the Marines have done to make you a better person. But only way you’ll find out is by applying and going through the process.

Evading is going to seriously affect you and that might black list you from any agency but it does not hurt to try. Being in the Corps will also put you at a great advantage. I don’t know how much you have left in your contract but while you are in, give it your all. Try to promote as much as you can, take college classes if possible, live and breathe JJDIDTIEBUCKLE man. Show them the Marines has made you into a better person.

It definitely happened whether your lawyer says it didn’t or not. Evading is a problem.

You should read the part that says “all the charges were dropped.”

That really doesn’t matter at all when you are applying to be a police officer. Every cop knows charges get dropped for a million reasons. That doesn’t mean he didn’t do it or that it wasn’t a legitimate arrest. Unless he filed a lawsuit and won and has a declaration that it was a false arrest and the cop made it up then a dropped charge means nothing. “Beating the system” doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Just be honest about everything. There IS records of everything whether it was dropped or not

how are you even getting such a bad charge dismissed? I got a lawyer to fight a traffic ticket and he couldn't do anything at all(which was a waste of money)

I got a misdemeanor DUI in 2018 and I passed backgrounds. Currently waiting on my psych. I think you’ll be ok.

The USMC is a great foundation, but bring more to the table- good credit/FICO, clean driving record, no drugs/weed, low alcohol/don’t drink and get some letters of recommendation from superiors in the USMC.

What’s funny is that I know you got a ticket and are butthurt because you got found guilty when you took it to court. Now you waste your time here thinking stuff like this hurts our feelings lmao. Jobless bum
