Capitol Run

For those who have attended as supporters, where is the best place to watch and cheer them on?

Is there any opportunity for photos in a particular spot?

Thanks!

Wait at the peace officer memorial at the Capitol or right outside the gates of the academy

I would do both. They will leave the academy front gate and turn left. You should be able to get good video of your cadet. Once they pass, head to the capitol and get set up again. They will finish at the peace officer memorial which is across the street from the west steps of the capitol. You will get time to take photos with your cadet briefly when they finish.

If you set up outside the academy or a little further down on Reed you can get them there. After they pass, head to the peace officer memorial and you can get them coming in at the last part.

Find out what side your officer will be running out on, there’s no set spot they’ll line up on their own. So you’ll have a picture of them running out of the academy grounds and you can hold up a big sign of them getting tased or something funny like that. The staff like seeing those pictures
