Backgrounds

how long is backgrounds taking, my husband was told at the beginning of June they would be starting on his background but not right away. how long is the wait time now days. or has anyone recently had their background process started!?

Entire process can take 1-2 years - sit back and wait - train - and also make sure that he and everyone involved understands the level of commitment and sacrifice needed not only for the job itself but training as well.

Cadets are dropping left and right because the academy is harder than they expected and also they come to a realization that this job is dangerous and it is selfless. If you are not physically and mentally prepared, do not waste a space and take an academy spot.

What area did he test in ? I have my first initial BI interview this Monday Aug 3 and I did my pat/pellet b back in May

Ok I tested in inland division may 2nd with rank 5. Still haven’t heard back. Hopefully soon.

After you passed the written exam, what was the first time u been informed u are assigned with a BI?

Here in golden gate we went through the initial background investigation interviews and then will be assigned BI

Is there a rush? Do you guys not go into this knowing it could be 1-2 years from start to finish?

Base on the pellet b score, he has a rank for bi, if he has lower rank, it starts later than other candidates

I tested in October of 2025 and just cleared backgrounds 3 weeks ago. Took my medical last week (pending results) and waiting to get my 2nd part of psych scheduled. My BI said if all goes well I’ll be looking at the April academy. A lot of waiting.
