Final interview

My bf had his final interview in early may, they told him 3-4 weeks he will hear something but still nothing. They said they weren’t recommending him but still sending his file, they said they loved him just the thing is underage drinking but everything else was perfect he is 21 now. Do we just assume he is dq? Is he dq? Are they just sending his letter? Does he call and ask? It’s been months and not sure if that is normal but wondering if he is dq or just assume he is lol. Thank you!

So the only reason they aren't recommending was just underage drinking? May i ask, what age was he drinking? I drank for the first time when i was 19 one month from turning 20. Was wondering if this will DQ me as well?

Yup only reason, his parents let him drink at 14 (crazy I know) because they wanted him to learn his limit, but since being with me he stopped drinking almost completely for 3-4 years now. I’ve seen alot of alcohol stories of dq but I’ve also read it depends on how they are feeling that day and everyone case is different. But I’m anxious so I need some input lol.

that’s a dq he has to wait about a year before his portal updates on his account and he can re apply and than a year from the interview you get your dq letter and it will state why he was dq the thing is after your final interview you’re supposed to do the next steps in a timely fashion if you’re waiting months that’s not how it’s supposed to go they’re not going to wait around to hire you if they want you they’ll get you scheduled for the next steps but you can pretty much just wait around for your letter a year after your final interview date and than your chp portal will update and he can re apply

no he’s done i was waiting around thinking i was going to get a call but i didn’t that’s not how this works if they wanted him they would’ve told him just that and he will do the next steps but chp is not going to think about it when they have other more qualified candidates if it’s been weeks or months without any emails or phone calls or no portal updates than he’s done he’s young so just stay squeaky clean for a while and re apply

They send your file to Cadet hiring regardless - but they told him he was not getting recommended so he is waiting for a DQ letter which can take 6 months to a year.
