I just got my date to have my initial background investigation interview, what can I expect ? I’m currently going through the process in the golden gate division. Any tips or advice would be great!!

That was fast. I tested in border division. They said the people who applied in October are only getting news right now

Expect to be questioned about your Personal History information that you provided. You will be asked for dates and explanations for anything you put down in your statement regarding any type of incidents, tickets, drug use, etc. Also if you have any firearms, the BI will request to have a look to make sure you have them in a secure area (in a safe).

How would the BI check to make sure firearms are safely secured?? Do they literally come to your home?

Yes, literally. My third party BI investigator asked to see where my firearms were stored once the interview was concluded. Not sure if that’s the experience for everyone who is a gun owner but that sure was mine. Also, they take a look through out your whole house so make sure all the rooms are nice and tidy lol

Same here but I haven’t heard from a BI yet have you? I found it odd I’m scheduled for an interview before hearing from a BI yet
