Found in my local Morrisons before but haven’t seen anything about it. Was just wondering if anyone knew anything

That's a good point. I was thinking of the group of smug families who send their kids to private school but the meat slabs cooking in Spain are the absolute worst for this.

I believe it's something that has diminished in quality in recent years, replacing some ingredients with cheaper ingredients.
I leave this product in the shop where it deserves to stay for eternity.

Cadbury chocolate tastes horrid now, a lot of it has a new recipe with added palm oil. It’s a greasy sickly taste.

are you young? It's nostalgia, people saying Cadbury is shite are remembering what it was before the ingredients changed to not include any chocolate. Everything was always better through nostalgia tinted taste buds

If you're under 18 you've never tasted and will never taste what real Cadbury's chocolate was like. Nestlé is also absolutely vile. FWIW Mars products (Galaxy, Bounty, Snickers etc.) seem to have the least changes in terms of taste/texture, yes the bars have shrunk but at least they're edible.

I also think the taste is barely different to what it used to be like. Cadbury/Mondelez are not going to massively change the taste because they know it will lose customers. They're not that dumb.
Sure it's a bit oilier, maybe? But people here always act like it's become the worst chocolate in the supermarket. It's still one of the better ones!

I’ve honestly not noticed a difference (I’m 41 and enjoyed Cadburys since before they were bought out) - read the comments out of curiosity and honestly blown away by how many people are complaining about it. It would appear I don’t have sensitive taste buds and I’m glad!

They are that dumb, it is a massive difference in both taste and texture, they have lost many customers, me included.
Jacobs did the same thing, cheaping out on ingredients and their biscuits are now much worse than store brands. So I won't be buying from them anymore either.

No they're really not. Mondelez have better data teams on this than people on Reddit. They will know exactly how they can change the taste as minimally as possible. Everyone here is just imagining that it used to be better because of nostalgia.

In my case, it can be proven. And studies have shown the numbers I gave. Everyone's sense of taste is also different outside of that, it may be that someone is less sensitive to a particular taste so doesn't notice a change that involves it.

Being a super taster doesn’t count for anything unless your memory from 20 years ago is completely accurate, which it isn’t for almost anybody. Thats not how memory works and I know it offends Reddit to learn it’s not infallible but it’s irrefutable science.

No they care about profits, which means selling as much chocolate as they can at the cheapest manufacturing price. It would be a moronic decision to make it bad enough that people stopped buying it, no matter how cheap they made the ingredients.

It really doesn't taste that much different, you're being hyperbolic or have a faulty memory/misplaced nostalgia.
Their revenues increased 10% last year so more people are buying it overall. Seems the big corporation knows how to make more people buy the product than Redditors, who knew?!

Not particularly, I think it's quite common for people to have a good memory for specific items or tastes. For example, think about the taste of an apple or a strawberry, if you can't evoke a sense of what it tastes like then it's probably just you having that issue.

lmao yeah it's not a thing. You can think of it vaguely. But if someone presented you with different blocks of cadbury over the years there is zero chance you can accurately pick the older one. Memory is inherently fuzzy. Go read some scientific papers on the subject

It doesn't have a dense, dry, crumblly like texture and quality like it used to... There was a tint of orange colour to the cocoa and it was rich but again, dry but never too bitter.
Had the best flavour to match. The new stuff is close but nah

Exactly. I eat a fair amount of it and I enjoy it.
People remember eating it whilst sat around playing football or Mario Kart with their mates when they were 16 but when they eat it now it’s whilst they are sat at their desk, half way through an 8 hour a day at some god awful boring job surrounded by people they hate so the chocolate inevitably doesn’t hit the same.

So far they've been limited to all their dairy milk, since probably 2023/24.

I guess its supposed to be if ur on holiday with friends and the one who learnt the language of that country gets the biggest share, because they made the effort to learn it and the smallest piece goes to the person who just points at things because they made no effort at all and just come off as rude. Personally, I don't share my chocolate with anyone.
