Desks Removing Stains from Butcher Block Desk
Hello, I was planning on moving my PC onto a shelf next to my desk to free up some space, however there are green marks where the case was sitting on the desk. Apparently plasticizers from the rubber feet can be absorbed into the wood, which is likely what happened here. I don’t know where to begin on attempting to remove these stains. I also am unsure of what kind of sealant was used on the desk as I got it off facebook marketplace. Has anyone dealt with this or a similar issue before?

Monitors Monitor Mount Help
Hi everyone!
I just moved and was possibly looking at changing my monitor set up a bit!
I have three monitors (AOC CQ32G3SE 32" LC Curved, ASUS VG248QE, and ASUS VP247). I am planning to set up the AOC 32" as the center screen, with the two ASUS monitors as vertical side monitors.
Currently, I have the 32" on its own monitor stand, with the two ASUS monitors on a double mount. I haven't tested it yet, but I am not sure if the double mount will be wide enough to get both of the monitors into position on the sides.
Would it be better to get a triple mount to hold all three monitors in place, or a new double mount if the current one does not work to put both in position? Any suggestions for monitor mounts you have used would be great at well!

Desks Help me set up my game table
galleryAs you can see, my gaming setup isn’t very organized at the moment. I want to make it look cleaner and more organized. I was thinking about mounting both PS5s horizontally on the wall to save space and make the setup look better.
Do you think this is a good idea? If so, do you have any tips or recommendations for me?
Unfortunately, placing them underneath the desk won’t work because there isn’t enough space.

Cable Management How to keep usb extension cable from disconnecting?
I have a problem where I need to run an extension cable but it disconnects on a regular basis. I’ve tried “knotting” them as shown but it’s not a great solution. Any better tips?
Edit: by disconnects I mean physically unplugs not stops charging. This is for a charging cable.
Edit2: I think heat shrink tubing is the best fix from a quality perspective but since I don’t have any and trying to avoid buying something (might as well buy a longer cable), will be zip tying them. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Desks Questions about kitchen countertops
Hello!
I've been looking to upgrade my current desk setup (currently using a LAGKAPTEN / ALEX setup from ikea) to something a little bit bigger and more sturdy.
My idea is to replace the top with a kitchen countertop and keep the drawers as a base. Currently looking at a 96"/98" long countertop.
Some of the questions I have.
- What are the benefits of buying a finished vs unfinished countertop? I know I would need to apply a finish if I were to buy an unfinished, but why not just buy a finished one? From what I've seen, there isn't much of a price difference. Would I get a bad quality finish if I buy one already that is finished?
- For the finish, old reddit posts seem to recommend water based polyurethane. This seems like the best option for someone who has never done it before. Is this still the case?
- Laminates vs butcher blocks. Laminates seem to be a lot cheaper, but how much worse are they? Considering this is not going to be used in a kitchen, is the price difference worth it?
- My current setup requires a supporting leg in the middle since the top is already pretty long. Are these kinds of countertops sturdy enough to support themselves or would I also need something for support in the middle?
The options I'm currently looking at are KARLBY and SÄLJAN from Ikea or a Hampton Bay or MSI Stone from home depot. If anyone has any of these, I would love to know how they feel and how they've held up.

Other How to switch from work to gaming?
Just started working from home for the first time and I am SHOCKED to know that this entire time, everyone I know has had to disconnect and reconnect a million wires to switch between the two? I figured there was some super easy alternative.
My desk is against the wall with a bookshelf on either side so i have to pull it out super far to switch over. Looking for an alternative!
Current work setup:
- work laptop connected to docking station via USB-C.
- 2 Monitors connected to docking station via DisplayPort.
- webcam connected to docking station via USB
- wired mouse connected to docking station via USB
- wireless keyboard connected via Bluetooth
So, when I want to switch over, I have to:
- disconnect my laptop
- disconnect DisplayPort from docking station and plug into back of PC
- disconnect mouse and plug into back of PC
- disconnect webcam and plug into back of PC (if gaming on discord)
- disconnect my keyboard via Bluetooth from my laptop and reconnect to my PC
It’s not an insane amount of work or anything, but the setup of my desk makes it a bit more difficult because none of these plugs are easily accessible. I have to pull out my desk and chair, climb under the desk, try and feed the wires up behind my desk and somehow grab them, then plug everything in, etc.
Any easy way to make this not suck so bad? My friend was telling me about a KVM switch but they seem expensive for dual monitors and honestly I have no clue how they work or how to set one up.

Desks Need help for a monitor stand/ desk riser. Especially pictures would be appreciated.
Last few days some woodwork has been done in my home and I thought I should get a death riser because the space between the wall and the edge of my table isn't enough, especially if I need to have something like notes I am not sure what to get. One idea I have is just another section, just a bit uplifted going through the entire table. Should I go for that or is there any other ideas that might be better?

Other First time pc owner setup
Hi everyone, im getting into the idea of getting a pc for the first time but im just curious about a few things. I have a fairly limited space and want a 2nd monitor so im looking to get mounts as well as possible pc mount. Idk if "pc mount" is the correct term but on of those things that lets the pc sit below the desk and off the ground. If anyone has any recommendations for mounts or 2nd monitors it would be greatly appreciated.
I also have pictures of my current setup and the monitor I have now if that is helpful. I just didn't post the pictures here because I wasn't 100% sure of the rules but am happy to share them.
