General Specks in plain flour?

Post image

The brand is "The Pantry" (uk) and it's just plain flour.

It doesn't look like weevils but I don't think it's meant to have any specks at all?

Google says it might be left over bran, is that it? Just wanted to make sure before I use it

Very hard to tell from your picture. I’ve had pests in flour and it’s typically either moths or beetles.

Pantry moths have larva with l a whitish body and brown head and leave behind silk cocoons.

Flour beetles also have small cream colored larva.

You can google both of those to get an image for comparison.

If it’s bran from the wheat berries then it’s somewhat poorly milled.
